With the opening weekend May 12th being rained out - the Victoria day race wkd became GBS's opening weekend and a great opening weekend it was. Sat night - A good crowd came to see some Great races contested in all the classes and our new BOS Auto Legend Series race presented by Mccoll Racing Enterprises was an opening success.
In our Junior Sprint classes DJ Christie won the OK Tire London South Junior B class with Cooper Aubertin and Matt Thompson taking 2nd and 3rd. In the London Drive Systems Junior A class - Tyler Fortney won a hard fought battle over Nick Ramsay (2nd) and Ray Morneau (3rd)
The Broadway Services Junior Late Model race saw Dawson Nethercott take the checkered flag, followed by Brody Richwood and David Nethercott. The Tommy's Motors 9HP sprint progam was won by Taner Kaelin with Kyle Mckenzie in 2nd and Shelby Verheyen 3rd.
In our feature classes - The Mike & Terry's No Frills Mini truck race was a real battle as the top 3 were side by side, swapping positions for the last 10 to 15 laps of the 50 lap feature. In the end the win went to Brandon Thurlby, with Scott Schloendorf taking 2nd and Shawn Thompson 3rd.
The Inaugural Bos Auto Legends race presented by Mccoll Racing Enterprises was similar to the truck race as twelve competitors from Ontario, Michigan and even Kentucky swapped postions using the entire track to get the job done. At the finish David Beatty was able to hold off Jake Dunmore for the win, with Cole D Landan coming in 3rd. If this is any indication of what is to come this will be a great series !
