WHITE HITS THE TRACK FOR NPS SEASON OPENER

May 20, 2018. Racing Jason White couldn’t wait to kick off the new racing season in his #21 Powder Ventures Excavating machine at round number one of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series this past weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) near Bowmanville, ON.  Even the less than ideal weather on Saturday couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the team.

Persistent rain showers limited track time for the #21 Powder Ventures Excavating team on Saturday.  A scheduled midday session was deemed optional but White still went out on track.  “I just wanted to make sure everything was good, no leaks and stuff so we’d be ready when we did get to run at full speed” he explained.  During a 30-minute session later in the day White managed to complete an additional 8 laps around the famed circuit.

Conditions on Sunday were perfect with sun and blue skies. Qualifying could not be completed due to the inclement weather so by rule Jason White started the Clarington 200 from the 16thstarting spot.  In the early going it was a bit of a struggle for White in the #21 Powder Ventures car.  “We had a little electrical gremlin early on and it was causing us some grief,” said White. “But we got it sorted out and were all good after that”.

As the race moved through the 51 laps of action White had to battle another issue.  “The Watt’s links broke in the rear suspension and it was a handful to keep it off the wall sometimes” said White.

Despite the ill handling White continues to work hard improving his performance and position on the track.  “I had some good battles with some guys that are really good to race with,” said the driver.  “We respect each other and it’s always great to run this great track and this Castrol Speedfest draws great crowds, such a perfect season opener,” he added.

White continued to hustle the #21 Powder Ventures car right to the checkered flag and was credited with a 15thplace result.  “Would have liked a little better result, that early issue bit us.  But the car doesn’t have a mark on it and we’ve got some things that we’re working on to improve our next time out” said White.

Jason White will be back behind the wheel of the #21 Powder Ventures Excavating car at the next NASCAR Pinty’s Series race June 16that Jukasa Motor Speedway.
