PLENTY OF ACTION FOR CBRT AT CTMP

August 26, 2018. Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) fielded four entries in round number ten of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series this past weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville, Ontario. Rookie of Year leader Brett Taylor had another good day at the challenging road course, Larry Jackson gained 11 positions during the race and Julia Landauer and James Vance both worked hard to overcome mechanical issues.

Brett Taylor in the #46 OTSFF Rockstar car continued to make strides in his road-racing prowess.  Starting from the 16thposition he performed in steady fashion throughout the race and finished near the top-ten to help solidify his hold on the rookie of the year standings.

During the Saturday afternoon practice session James Vance in the #1 ExpoSystems/Houston Ford was the quickest of the four CBRT runners posting the eighth fastest time overall.  With the qualifying session rained out and the field set based on practice speeds Vance would start the race on the outside of row four but an electrical problem would end his day early.

Julia Landauer making her second start for CBRT in the #25 PartSource Dodge showed finesse and skill moving forward from her 21ststarting spot on the grid.  Adapting quickly to these Pinty’s Series cars she’d moved into the top-ten before making her scheduled pit stops.  A handling issue, which turned out to be a disconnected sway bar had her muscling the car to the finish.

Larry Jackson in the #43 CBRT/Victory Gamez/Sunspace Dodge was the big mover on the day gaining eleven positions during the 51-lap race.

Looking at the overall team performance CBRT General Manager Joey McColm was pleased with many of the things he saw.  “I’m really liking the determination that Brett is showing.  He was struggling a bit with the handling, but he found a way to make it to the end”.

“Same with Julia, who despite the sway bar issue stayed on the lead lap and really showed some talent and car control.  A great effort by Larry as always, he’s got such a knack for finding his way forward.  James had an electrical issue and it’s too bad because he was running fourth at the time and had a real shot at a podium finish.  He was really quick and was able to put it wherever he needed to on the track”.

“There are a lot of positives from this weekend we’ll build on as we get set for St. Eustache”.

CBRT drivers are back in action at the Autodrome St. Eustache in St. Eustache, Quebec on Saturday September 8th.  For the latest info & team updates follow @CBRTeams on Instagram and Facebook.
