Danny Benedict Unveils a Busy Schedule for the 2018 Season

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

Hard work is the key to any level of motorsports success. With the start of a new season less than a couple of months away, the Orono, Ontario race shop of Benedict Racing has become a hive of activity. Driver Danny Benedict and his crew are burning the midnight oil to get their equipment ready for the Saturday, April 28th opener at Sunset Speedway. After scoring not just the first Late Model feature win – but the biggest checkered flag of his young career – at the late 2017 Velocity event, Benedict has his sights set on keeping the ball rolling through the 2018 campaign.

“Its amazing what that one victory did for my confidence level and the attitude of our entire team,” Danny Benedict admitted. “We’d had some good runs through our first 2 seasons with the Late Model but getting to the winner’s circle at one of the track’s marquee events really served to put us on the map.”

Even though he missed about a dozen starts during the 2017 season, the talented youngster – who advanced to this stage of his career through the provincial go-kart and Mini Stock ranks – logged 4 top 5 and 8 top 10 runs, while finishing 14th in the Division 1 standings at Sunset, where close to 30 different drivers scored points in at least one main event.

Heading into the new season, the #54 team will be prepping a pair of cars. One for weekly action at their Toronto-area home track and a second for selected starts on the APC Pro Late Model Tour. In total, the Algonquin College graduate has plans to run more than 25 shows in 2018, concluding with the Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway.

“Its an exciting time of year for us, but nothing matches the rush that comes with the first laps of the season,” Danny Benedict said. “Dale, Max, Sam, Catrina, my Dad and even my Mom and sister Julie are doing a great job getting both cars ready to kick-off the schedule.”

Benedict Racing would like to thank marketing partners Shaw Motorsports, GTA Racing Design, B & W Enterprises, Baudo Auto Service, Hoy’s Garage, Mark Rainford Auto Sales, Mayhew Graphics, Kim Irwin of Irwin Tax, Dan McHattie Racecars, L & H RV Sales & Service and Clarke Motorsports Communications for their support. The #54 crew welcomes inquiries from additional interested sponsors. To learn more about opportunities with the team, contact danny.benedict@hotmail.com.
