Paul Maltese Suffers Mechanical Failure at Peterborough Speedway
PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Racing at Peterborough Speedway for a change this season, Paul Maltese suffered a mechanical failure while running in the top-five.
He started off the night by showing speed with a third-place finish in both of his qualifying heats.
Starting seventh for the feature, he began to make his way forward, moving into third by the first caution at Lap 26. He would continue to stay there, set for a strong run and ready to battle the top-two for position when the car would come to a stop on the backstretch. It was discovered post-race that the No. 9 Late Model suffered a broken rear gear.
The team will be looking for a good run at Sunset Speedway on Saturday, July 21 in the next night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model competition. Maltese has finished in the top-10 the past three weeks.
Lajeunesse Motorsports is proud to be supported by Paragon Office Installation Services, Delmeade Construction Ltd., Ontario Acoustic Supply Inc., and Ontario Steel Sales Inc.
