Solid month of July scheduled for at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Monday, June 26, 2017 – Martin Bélanger – With 5 cancellations in the first 8 events of the season, promoter of Cornwall Motor Speedway, Raymond Lavergne is looking to revitalize his 2017 season by offering a great month of July with 5 solid events on the schedule, here are the details:

Let’s celebrate Canada! – Canadian Nationals and Ultimate Pro-Stock

There will be no better place to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary than Cornwall this coming Sunday as we will present the remake of round 1 of the Canadian Nationals Modified Series with a 125-lap Modified event, on May 21, a total of 28 drivers had shown and since qualifying was not completed, special procedures were implemented for this event to have a full 30-car starting grid as interest has been shown by several drivers in participating in this event. Also on the card, will be the Ultimate Pro-Stock Series with a 50-lap feature, another good field of cars is expected for this race being the initial race for this year’s series. The Street-Stock with a 25-lap race will also be part of the action along with the Sportsman and Mini-Stock, being a long weekend, we expect to see great field of cars in every division.

Super DIRTcar Big-Block Series in town!

One of the key events of 2017 will be the annual trek of the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Series with a 100-lap event paying $6,000 to win. The current title race is pretty tight as only 77 points separates the top 5 composed of Matt Sheppard, Billy Decker, Brett Hearn, Larry Wight and Jimmy Phelps; this order might change as 3 more events will be run in the Series before Cornwall. You can also add Series regulars such as Max McLaughlin, Stewart Friesen, Alan Johnson, Keith Flach, Pat Ward, Tim Fuller, Billy Whittaker, Erick Rudolph, Pete Britten, Mike Mahaney, Brandon Walters and Rich Scagliotta. You can also count on Tim Kerr, Mike Maresca, Yan Bussière, David Hébert, JF Corriveau, Steve Bernard and Mat Williamson that will have a big block power plant for the occasion.

Sprint Car Night!

After being on the spotlight for two consecutive weeks, the Modifieds will have a night off as Sprint Car fans will be pleased to see the Patriot Sprint Tour along with the SpeedSTR and Slignshot in action. Several cars in these classes are expected for that night of racing.
