16th Annual Atlantic Stock Car Championships (ASCC's) Announced

Shediac, NB - Sept 11, 2015. Shediac's CENTRE for Speed - Entertinament Park is pleased to announce the 2015 Atlantic Stock Car Championships. The event, which for the last 15 years has drawn more stock car competitors than any other in the region, will to be held on the first weekend of October.

"Racing's Year End Celebration" begins with an open practice and early arrival party on Friday, Oct 2 from 4 until 8 and moves into high gear on Oct 3rd for the biggest racing weekend in the Maritimes (600 laps and more than 150 teams) on Saturday, Oct 3rd with extended lap races. The "Big Feature" on Saturday will include the speedways first ever Sportman 125, the annual Mini 100 and 4 Cylinder 50's, and a Mini Cup 20 lap event.

On Sunday its the first ever Pro Stock 200 coupled with the annual Street Stock 100 which, last year, featured the largest car count for the class at 28 competitors and resulted in a must see event of awesome racing. After the races there will be live entertainment which will be included in the admission.

The event weekend will feature the largest payouts in the event history and a completely overhauled left half of the main grandstand with pressure treated decking throughout. The speedways Moose Light Bar will also be open in Turn 4 for the duration of the event.

"Competitors love this event" said promoter Tim Wile "we've already got cars registered from throughout Atlantic Canada in all the divisions prior to this announcement and it's great to see the teams continuing to support it so strongly, Susan and I appreciate the loyalty it has garnered. We're hoping that this year will add another level of excitement to both days with extended laps for Sportsman and Pros. It'll add some strategy to each of those races and that's always exciting. The Street Stocks look as though they'll be another large field after last years record setting count and we can only hope that the racing is nearly as exciting. I suspect it will be. It was a barn burner last year as was the Mini Stock 100 and Sportsman events. All the divisions put on an exciting show. I think that's what happens when you can relax and know that its the last race of the year. You just let it all hang out and the result is pure excitement."

With competitors already registered from throughout Atlantic Canada in all divisions prior to the official announcement of the event it looks like it will be a great race weekend. Competitors (esp Pro Stocks) who are not yet registered are urged to do so immediately for speedway planning purposes and to ensure the best possible event.

Racing begins on Saturday and Sunday at 1 PM and is expected to end before sundown (6pm) as it has in recent years. A rules Package for this years "Racing Celebration" is available on the CENTRE's web site at www.centreforspeed.com under the ASC Championsips '15 page.

Camping will be available on site via the pit road and Parking Lot C and at the Pit Road Camping area.
