Christie Clinches Superbike Title With Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Win


Jodi Christie clinched his first Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship with an emphatic victory in the final round of the season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Sunday.

The 22-year-old from Keene, Ont. took the lead on the opening lap and pulled away to a 15.498 second victory on his Honda CBR1000RR. Christie completed the 16 laps around the famous 3.957 km grand prix track in 20 minutes, 58.683 seconds for an average speed of 181.081km/h.

The win was Christie’s second in five races this season and gave him a total of 242 points in the final Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship standings.

In other action at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Kenny Riedmann clinched his first Pro title with a second-place finish in the final round of the Hindle Exhaust Pro Sport Bike Championship, The Belfountain, Ont. rider finished the season with 193 points to the 151 of Christie, who vaulted from fifth to second in the point standings with a dominant win in Sunday’s race.

Riding his Honda CBR600RR, Christie finished the 12-lap race 8.046 seconds ahead of Riedmann on the Castrol Triumph 675.
