I believe the answer is yes - provided:
It's allowed under your home track rules - and registered at the start of the year with back up driver and is within allowance; i.e. if the home track rules allow a substitute driver, it maybe only allowed "x" amount of times for the year (which I think is 2 races max).
That said, for the "series" it may not be allowed for those specific events, only your regular home track nights are alternate drivers allowed, and still counted towards your mandatory running of 50% of your home track races.
