Chad Strawn and Brad Stevenson to Chase Ontario Modified Racing Series Championship Together

With a glance at the current points situation and what will work best for the team, S&S Racing is proud to announce that they will be contending for the ntario Modifieds Racing Series powered by Torque Builders Inc Championship with drivers Chad Strawn and Brad Stevenson splitting the races for the rest of the season.

The plan originally at the start of the season was for Strawn to run the full OSCAAR Modfied Series schedule while Stevenson would run any OMRS races that he could within that. However, two months into the season, those plans have changed for the drivers of the No. 77 Eibach/Kingsmen Kustoms Modified.

"Running for both championships is just not possible as there are a few nights that conflict with the two series," Strawn commented. "Since the start of the season, I have hoped that the conflicting nights rained out every time so Brad could keep his points."

Strawn continued on to say that he spoke with his dad, Brian Strawn, about the possibility of letting Stevenson contend fully for the OMRS title while doing the OSCAAR events that did not conflict.

"Brad is doing really well with the car this year and has a really good chance at the championship," Strawn commented. "With some good luck that we both seem to be lacking, I think he will be in victory lane in no time."

The discussion quickly turned into the plan being for Stevenson to run the full OMRS schedule.

"When we told Brad that we wanted him to go for it, he quickly returned back and said if you're going to not race the conflicting races with oscaar so I can race, we go for the championship together," Strawn said. "Brad does a lot of the work on the car and we appreciate the friendship. It goes to show how strong a friendship the whole team has together."

Stevenson has ran each of the events thus far this season and currently leads the points, one point ahead of John Baker Jr. coming off of a second place finish on Saturday night at Peterborough Speedway. While they've had success on the OMRS side, they've also had success in OSCAAR as Strawn currently sits second in points three top-10s in the first four races thus far this season.

The next race for the Ontario Modified Racing Series is on July 25 at Peterborough Speedway.

Both drivers would like to thank car owners Brian and Deb for the opportunity, as well as thanks to the entire team and their respective families for the continued support.
