Luke Gignac Ready for Sophomore Campaign

After an incredible rookie campaign, Luke Gignac will return to the OSCAAR Modified Series in 2017 with ADAMS Motorsports.

"After having a great rookie season, if we can keep our nose clean, we should be able to run near the front," Gignac said. "That being said, it's beginning to look like there will be a lot more cars thise year, which is a great thing in my mind as "more cars equal more excitement.

"As far as goals, the whole team's goal is to keep racing fun."

Last season, Gignac was up front all year en route to finishing second in the standings. Gignac managed to score nine top-10 feature finishes to go with five heat victories. His efforts were also recognized at the series banquet with the Rookie of the Year Award, and Most Sportsmanlike Award.

"Obviously last year was a great year for the team," he said. "From Rookie of the Year and being a legitimate contender, you really couldn't ask for more. We focus on having fun and doing the best that we can each week."

Reflecting back on the year, the driver of the No. 99 OTD Building Supplies, Fox's Bakery & Deli, Dave Wiggins Custom Exhaust, Heritage Heating, Wix Filters, TSS Top Shops, Morton Metals, and Dwinnells Family Movers Modifed says the biggest thing he learned was "keep it fun, keep it clean, and if you show respect, you usually earn respect."

Flash forward to 2017, he admits he's excited to get to all the tracks on the schedule, but Kawartha Speedway holds special anticipation due to never having the chance to race there before.
