PRO STOCK STOCK TOUR READY TO ROCK AT RIVERSIDE THIS SATURDAY

(Halifax, NS, June 13, 2012) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour heads to the high banks of Riverside International Speedway this Saturday, June 16th for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100.  This will be the first event of the season for the track located just outside of Antigonish in James River, NS and round three of 12 for the popular stock car racing series. Riverside’s 1/3 mile oval has produced ten different winners in the last 11 Pro Stock Tour races.  Grandstand gates for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100 open at 3:00 PM; Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials will get underway at 5:10 PM with racing slated for 6:00 PM.

If you are unable to join us at Riverside this Saturday, you can catch the race on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, channel 157 Sports Express as the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100 will be broadcast live to an international audience on Race Time Radio!

Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) picked up his third career series win at the Lucas Oil 100 hosted at Petty International Raceway on June 2nd. The win, Hicken’s first since 2010, vaults him to the top of the points standings, just one marker ahead of Craig Slaunwhite (Terrence Bay, NS) who had another solid performance finishing eighth. Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) had a decent run but wound up with a disappointing 20th place finish at the Lucas Oil 100 dropping him from first in points to eighth. Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) sits in third, thanks to a solid run by super sub George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS). Darren Mackinnon (Charlottetown, PE) and Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB) sit fourth and fifth respectively.

Hometown heroes Donald Chisholm and George Koszkulics will both be drivers to watch on Saturday. Koszkulics snapped a six-season winless drought in the Lucas Oil 100 at Riverside last August. Chisholm is the defending Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100 Champion and has three wins to his name at the track. Darren MacKinnon picked up the only other win at Riverside last season taking home the coveted IWK 250 title. These three will have to battle 25 other talented teams from across the Maritimes if they wish to return to victory lane at Riverside International this Saturday.

Opening the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100 is the Napa Sportsman Series who will be kicking off their season with the Highland Building Supplies 50 lap feature.
