OSCAAR Modified Jukasa Motor Speedway Preview

After a fun night at Kawartha Speedway, the OSCAAR Modifieds are ready to continue their big month of racing, with their first trip to Jukasa Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 16.

The man heading there with momentum on his side is John Harper, as he picked up the victory at Kawartha. He is off to a solid start in 2018, with two podium finishes.

The other driver to visit victory lane thus far in 2018 is Gary McLean, who picked up the win at Sunset Speedway. He backed it up with a runner-up at Kawartha.

While these two drivers will be tough to beat, there is a field hoping to score their first victory of the 2018 campaign and make history on Saturday night.

Cory Horner knows what it takes to do well in OSCAAR, as he has started off the year with a fourth-place finish at Sunset and third at Kawartha.

Gary Elliott will head to Jukasa Motor Speedway hoping to return to the top-10 after just missing it at kawartha with a 12th-place finish. He started off the year solidly, finishing in the top-10 at Sunset despite motor issues.

Chris Milwain will hope to score his fourth career OSCAAR victory following three wins last season, and two-top-fives to kick off this year.

Dale Reinhart hopes to keep the momentum going, following a seventh-place finish at Kawartha Speedway.

Mike Hearty is set for the long haul from Sault St. Marie to be part of the action, hoping to improve upon his sixth-place finish from Kawartha.

Wally Wilson will continue his learning curve behind the wheel of his modified, hoping the bad luck from the past two races is behind him.

Jase Cornell will hope to put together a solid performance following a pair of 11th-place finishes to start the 2018 campaign.

Duane Cinnamon will hope to have a smooth day at Jukasa after a solid top-10 at Kawartha.

Kelly Balson made his name known in the OSCAAR ranks with success in the Outlaw Super Late Model level, and started off solidly in the modified. He was leading at Kawartha, when he got spun in the late stages, ending his race early. He’ll hope for some better luck at Jukasa.

After missing the event at Kawartha, A.J. Emms will hope to run in the top-five once again, following a fifth-place finish in the season opener at Sunset.

The 2018 rookie of the year candidates – Jason Bowden, Jason Keen, and Jeff Showler – each have impressed thus far. While all three finished in the top-12 at Sunset, all three were once again in the top-15 at Kawartha. So far, Keen was the best at Sunset with sixth, followed by Bowden topping the list at Kawartha with a fifth. Who will come out on top this weekend?

You’re going to want to keep an eye on some other rookies, as both Tyler Di Venanzo and Mike Hamacher are expected to make their series debuts at Jukasa.

Two familiar faces are set to return to the field on Saturday, with Justin Demelo and Ryan Dick on the early entry list. It’ll mark Demelo’s first OSCAAR start since 2016, when he scored one top-five and three top-10’s in three starts. Meanwhile, Dick finished fourth at Flamboro in his last series start, October 2016.

David Balych continues to work towards his first career victory, having posted three top-10’s last season.

Marshall Schrenk will make his first series trip to Jukasa Speedway following a 13th-place finish at Sunset Speedway.

The OSCAAR Modifieds will be joined by the OSCAAR Hot Rod Series and NASCAR Pinty’s Series. Event details are located at https://www.jukasamotorspeedway.com/events/event/june-16/.
