The 1/4 mile high banked oval known over the past 40 years as Varney Speedway in Varney (Durham), Ontario has been purchased by Gord Bennett of Cambridge, Ontario whom is the Owner of Full Throttle Marketing and Promotions, a motorsports promotions company.
The purchase of the unique speedway will come with the new name for the track, Full Throttle Motor Speedway along with many new and creative promotional changes.
The 19 scheduled race nights will change in 2014 to Friday Nights and have a 7:30pm starting time all season beginning on May 23rd and running weekly until September 19th. 5 different classes will be on the card each night, each division will run 2 feature events and there will be no qualifying events to hinder the racing excitement, features start at 7:30pm with the racing finished by 11pm. There will also be a healthy rotation of quality types of race cars under "Unified" Invitational type rules and the highest purses to entertain the dedicated crowds each and every week of the summer.
Full Throttle Motor Speedway will now be the home of one of the biggest Pro Late Model races in North America on Sunday, August 31st, The 1st Annual $50,000 to-win "The BIG One", a triple 50 lap event where a driver can win the monster $50,000 payout if they win all three features which will surely bring the spotlight on Full Throttle Motor Speedway "Canada's Fastest 1/4 Mile Oval".
