Merged the Historical thread with the "sweet old photos from 1968 thread". Thought they ought to be together.

Corrected the 17 driver as Geoff Rennison of Lambeth. If a Manning and a Truax and a 71 race program say its so, then it works for me.

Hi my name is Jim Taggart, and i raced in the cascar divison on friday nights at Delaware in the 80's, I drove the #9 Monte Carlo. I raced with Steve Roblee, Bobby Morris,Moe Merner, Phil McNally, Bill Rowse jr, Ken Charron and many others of that era. My dad and i towed every friday night from Windsor to Delaware, I enjoyed the competitiveness of the racing at Delaware and how well the other racers treated us every night. I've attached a couple pics of my car over some of the years i ran at Delaware, does anyone remember the #9 Monte carlo?

Ah OK. I just seem to recall Garner running a blue monte with the same number, That was some great racing back then.

Anyway, welcome to the boards!

Hi Jim  you and your Dad are great people to do business with. Hope to see you around a race track some day. And that #9 (Purple) was a GOOD Car and Driver.

Sure I remember Al Chute. I raced against him every Friday night back then. I think Al was running a red thunderbird #24 back then.

Actually, Chuter here sent me some photos of his Dad for posting. I've been a busy beaver lately and havent had a chance to treat them for posting, but keep an eye open.
