Howdy folks,

Well, real life once again rears its ugly head, and I find myself sitting at work today rather than going to the races, so there'll be no report form this end later. Just want to request that someone grab some results and post them here when they get home.

Looks like a beautiful day, so I'm wishing everyone a great days racing!

Hopefully Delaware officials will see fit to run the Supers 1st and their Feature 1st to try and avoid the pop-up storms that are sure to happen in this heat. The SS and OWM features can easily be run in the future weeks, but this is our last shot at the Supers this year.....and the main reason this crowd is here.

Everyone think positive thoughts and hope that the everyone gets their racing in before the skies are scheduled to open up at 5 pm.   Smiley

So can we count on a "Crazy report"?

As far as who goes first, I'm on the fence. Ultimately the Supers HAVE to race today. I can't imagine the cost incurred to the track if they don't...but then I don't know if they'd do a makeup race later or not.

But no worries, cuz it aint gonna rain. JWO's been dancing naked in the meadow...so we should be OK.

I will do my best to capture the info for you at the race.  You know the problem though, I generally watch one driver!  The report could be less biased than yours usually are.

No worries love, just catch the top 3 or 5 off the scoreboard after each race if you can...don't worry about a writeup. Ultimately we just want to know who won, who placed, and who crashed. (and even then, only if its a bad crash.)

I prefer the 'catastrophic' version for reports, as long as it's someone else's hot rod.

Well its 1pm by my clock here. Its a little hazy, but it looks like we got blue skies. They should be dropping the green flag right about now.

Looking wistfully out the window....

I'm sorry but I have to vehemently disagree with you on this.  Some of the ISMA teams travelled 15-20 hours to get to Delaware and support this big race weekend, and have the same trip back home today so they can go to work tomorrow morning...

They won't be able to come back and make up their races later in the year...Doubles for the race teams might not be "fun", but at least the local teams have a chance to make up a race if it gets rained out.

A lot of fans were also in attendance from out of town, and the stands definitely emptied out somewhat after the Super feature...Those folks also have to get home and rest so they can go to work in the morning.

Anyways...quick ISMA race report...Carol from ISMA will have something up on their site later tonight I am sure:

Dave Shullick, Jr. won the ISMA 50 lapper at Delaware on a very hot and humid afternoon.

Vern Romanoski started on the front row and led much of the feature until it appeared he might have had a tire going flat or some other problem...The MAINEiac looked like he was going to hold off the Shullick 61 until his issue, but he slipped high in turn 2 on lap 48, allowing Shullick to get past, and then spun in turn 1 on the next lap.

Earlier in the feature Mark Sammut got a run on Romanoski in turn 3 and 4, but got too close and bent the right front wing...The car didn't look to handle as well after that.

Shullick got the win followed by Sammut, Jeff Holbrook, and Chris Perley.
