Once again, just an awesome night of racing all around, and it looks like Richmond Row has some reasons to feel good tonight. However, Lake row, which is one row to the south, suffered a little bit of heartbreak.

Once again, this is an abrreviated report. The rest will be up tomorrow night.

Super Stocks

Heat 1 - Top 3: Sheilds, Perkins, Nagy

Heat 2 - Top 3: Rabideau, Reid, Hewitt

Feature - Top 5: Clark, Lidster, Perkins, Hewitt, Reid

Notes
-Perkins looking very strong tonight. looks like the backup car is finally starting to come around to them.
-Ray Morneau returns, but sporting the number 48, in some kind of arrangement with the 48-McColl team who didn't have the car out tonight. Ends badly as the car ends up in the inner backstretch fence
-Heartbreak for Lake as he ends up going around in turn 3-4 on a restart. Varying reports. Some said it looked like he broke something and got turned when he slowed. Others said he was just turned. Either way, the 77 car was out for the night.

Powerade Modifieds

Heat 1- Top 3: Saunders, Scott, hendricks

Heat 2- Top 3: Shipway, Newman, Cox

Feature- Top 5: Richmond, Newman, Cox, McCullough, Shipway

-Great run for Richmond tonight. In the early going it looked like the trio of Shipway, Newman and Cox were too busy with one another and were letting Richmond get away. Then Shippy goes into 1 a little hot and loops it to bring out the caution and setup the run to the checkers. Richmond holds off both Newman and Cox in the final laps.
-According to the announcers, Richmond was faster than Cox in the heat race. Looks like they've found something that works, as it was a solid run tonight.

JBM Autoleasing Triple Crown - APC Late Models

Time trials won by 28-Robblee, followed by Watson, Hooker, Lindsay, Sheridan and Matthews.

Feature 1: Top 5: Hooker, Sheridan, Matthews, Robblee and Lindsay

Notes
-Hooker looking solid once again, passing Sheridan in the early going and hanging on despite challenges from Sheridan.
-Appearance by visitors 9-Brandon Watson (numbered 91), 63-Jim Bowman, 81-Greisel
-02 Watson looked stout in the early going but had to bow out due to some sort of brake rotor/wheelbearing problem. It was bad enough to it retire the 02 car for the evening.
-Kennedy had some kind if issue that saw him going backward in the feild with what appeared to be a misfiring/stalling out race car. Looks like they got it settled for the second race however.

Feature 2- Top 5- Robblee, Hooker, Sheridan, Lindsay and Thompson

-this one turned into a bit of a wreckfest near the end with a lot of cautions
-Last lap sees Urlin tryng to spin Hooker to take 2nd, but it backfires and it ends up taking  both himself and 9-Watson out. Maybe one of these days Urlin should actually try and pass someone instead of just rubbing them. (Lindsay used to drive like that years ago, but has matured.)
-Bad luck for 5-Delisle as he finds himself in to the inner catch fence on the backstretch with some damage. Didn't see what happened there.
-3 strikes you're out for 29 Barlass, who'd spun all on his own for the third time and got the black for his efforts.

Roll Eyes Not too pee in anybodie's Cornflakes, but the racing that went on last night was just about as bad as it could get. I had too look around and make sure I was at the right track. Looking at my watch it said it was Friday and, by looking at the stands I could tell we we'rent a few miles to the east. I will tell you the racing looked like it was at 1/3 miler saturday night drive by contact deal. Complete with a posturing and quasi brawl in the pits.
This was a pretty piss poor show we put on for a visiting dignitary form NASCAR Embarrassed Embarassing to say the least.
The 77 suffered from a rear gear dilema that resulted in there DNF, they were not turned. The little exchange of words and some testosterone laden posturing came from the 51 and 84 Teams, nothing to worriesome just allot of show. It looked like we went racing and a Hockey game broke out Grin
LM lap 21 went on for what seemed like forever, but it was good to see Hooker up near the front finishing I believe second. All-in-all a pretty disappointing night

What is it they're checking for there Doug?

And to JWO, yep it was a little rough tonight, no question. Smith and Rabideau are both good guys though...things must have just got a little hot.

As far as the NASCAR guy....I was speaking to him and Arlen breifly as they were rolling out the last feature, and the Nascar fella was grinning ear to ear. Delaware's now definitely on the map in this guy's eyes anyway, and for good reasons.

Good job everyone.

Wheel offset.  I think there are limits on offset and the left and right sides should be the same.

It looked to me like the 77 super stock was a chain reaction victim on the restart. 2nd position on back started before the leader and had to check up. This is how the 7 and 5 got into trouble too.(5 passed early) I think they would have less trouble on restarts if they would throw the green midway down the backstretch like ISMA did. Great night of racing though as all classes looked very fast. Funniest part of the night was when 55ss touched someones rear that got out of shape in front of him and his hood popped up over his windshield.

As far as I know they are checking back space and there is no minium, but you are SUPPOSED to maintain a wheel track width within an inch of the OEM spec. The lower the backspace the wider the track width. The rules say you must run the same backspace on both sides of the axle. Some guys are following that some are not, as far as track width goes. if you run a 2" back space your car will be 3" wider in the track width ( I think) Wink
The 77's rearend did the big gernade, Matt was saying they losing it and hoping it would hold together. You could hear it quite loudly on the pace laps and even under green Cry it was only a matter of time! It really is too bad for them as they are top shelf performers
