TORONTO, ON (March 9, 2015) – Move Motorsports Management, promoters of Canadian open wheel racing, announced on Monday the 2015 schedule for the Formula 2000 Canada Championship Series.

The province-wide calendar features 6 double-header events at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Calabogie Motorsport Park and Shannonville Motorsport Park.

The season will open at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park at the BEMC Spring Trophy Races, May 2nd and 3rd with the next round at Calabogie Motorsports Park May 30th and 31st, making their debut at that facility.

The next round is back at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park June 27th and 28th for the BARC Touring Trophy Races, then at Shannonville Motorsport Park July 18th and 19th.

The highlight of the season will be participation in the August 28th, 29th and 30th Chevrolet Silverado 250, in support of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ only appearance in Canada and one of the most anticipated events in Canadian motorsports.

The Champion will be crowned at the jointly promoted CASC-OR and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Celebration of Motorsports, September 26th and 27th.

"The Formula 2000 Championship Series looks to grow again this season after a 20 year absence in the Canadian marketplace," said Jason Sharpe,” series promoter. "We have enjoyed a renewed interest in formula car racing in Canada and our goal with F2000 is to continually add cars to the series as the season progresses, culminating with our participation in the Chevrolet Silverado 250 weekend in support of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. We are thrilled to have been included on that weekend and look forward to showcasing Canadian open-wheel talent on a grand scale,” he added.

The Formula 2000 Canada Championship Series looks to fill a large void in Canadian motorsports. Offering young competitors a cost effective means to continue to develop their skills and brands in an effort to move up the motorsports ladder, while providing seasoned open wheel enthusiasts a competitive and fun racing environment in ultra fast, technologically advanced cars.

Additional announcements including on-track schedules, sponsorships, regulations and registration will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.
