TEAM TURNER RACING PR: SPRING SIZZLER STARTS SEASON
by Tommy Goudge (April 24, 2015) - Caistor Centre, Ontario - Team Turner Racing is ready to open their 2015 racing season this Saturday, April 25 when the Patriot Sprint Tour visits Merrittville Speedway in Thorold, Ontario for the Spring Sizzler.
Jamie Turner and sons Cory and Ryan are all set to compete in the event with their 360 Sprint Cars. Jamie will be starting his 6th Sprint Car season, while Cory is entering his sophomore Sprint Car season, and Ryan is embarking on his rookie season in a Sprint Car. Cory and Ryan both tested out their cars and the new Merrittville surface last Saturday, while the team put the finishing touches on Jamie's car this week.
"We were pretty happy with how practice went," Cory said. "We will make a few adjustments this week, and we should be good to go!"
Following the Merrittville event, the team will focus on Ohsweken Speedway, where they will race weekly on Friday nights beginning May 15. Ryan will attempt to follow in the footsteps of Jamie and Cory this season, as both are previous winners of the 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year award at Ohsweken. The team will have a busy 2015 season, with plans to compete in many of the Southern Ontario Sprints tour races, and other area Sprint Car events.
