Wally Wilson Bit By Mechanical Issues at Flamboro Speedway
HAMILTON, Ontario — Experiencing mid-race mechanical issues, along with a black flag from race officials, race day at Flamboro Speedway did not go as anticipated for Wally Wilson.

Wilson started off the day by finishing seventh in both of his qualifying heats, starting him deep in the field for the main event.

The sophomore was solid at the beginning of the feature, keeping track position and himself within the thick of battle, escaping any damage when a pair of cars collided for the race’s lone caution on Lap 8. Restarting deep in the field, Wilson kept himself out of trouble, battling with fellow younggun Tyler Di Venanzo for position until the car stopped running.

Not wanting to cause a yellow flag, he retreated to the infield, where he got the No. 69 Modified back running before returning to the track. Unfortunately, rules do not allow you to leave the racing surface for a period of time and return, in which Wilson was given a black flag and parked for the night. He was credited with a 13th-place finish.

With the mechanical gremlins and both the OSCAAR Modifieds & Outlaw Midgets in action this weekend, the team has yet to decide which they will pursue so stay tuned to the various social media accounts for updates.

Wilson’s efforts are supported by The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, Have1.com, and Wix Filters. Wally Wilson Racing is a proud supporter of #BurnOutTheBully and Laps for Muscular Dystrophy..
