Just wondering if anyone has information on the Stefko thundar car series.
-
its a 5 race series racing at Sauble Peterborough Sunset Kawatha and Barrie. First race is July 2nd at Sauble then July 4th at peterborough not sure when the other races are.
-
The Sunset race is on Sunday July 17th with the Lucas Oil Sportsman 100 lap event, that Sportsman/Thunder car show will be one for the ages I could easily see 45 cars in the pits can'y wait!
-
AHHHH thanks for the info WATTIE.. I was unaware that the Stefco Series hit Sunset on Sunday July 18th in conjunction with the Lucas Oil Sportman Series. I just might go to that event now. When I thought it was the just the Sportman and regular racing for Sunset Mini's and Thunders the idea of attending didnt really float my boat. But with the potential to see 40 plus Thunders battling it out for supremacy that has totally changed my mindset.
So the Stefco series shapes up like this:
Friday July 2nd at Sauble
Sunday July 4th at Peterborough
Sunday July 18th at Sunset
Friday July 23rd at Kawartha
Friday Aug 20 at Barrie for the final race

Any idea if Barrie will allow out of town mini's to compete that friday night? I'd like to run the track.
-
we have 5 grace nights now Jibby
come on down.
I have the kawartha date somewhere...I think it may be in august though...
-
I would imagine they'd be more than happy to let you race JIBBY. There used to be a 2 grace night policy, but recently heard they upped that to 5. I can neither confirm or deny that with definite certainty but either way you'd be good to go.. I'd imagine that quick lil Stang would hook up really well at the tight Barrie confines too.. ;)

july 23rd is the kawartha date
-
Thanks Joe... I'm revising the above post to add that date to the schedule.. Are you running the full travelling series?? Any word on what Sauble Thunders will be competing in these races??
-
i hope too..see how things go...from what i hear maybe 5-6 guys plan on it...
-
Mr. Blackflag, Lets just say that car of mine was unbeatable at Barrie when it was up there last!
-
Yes I'm aware who the former owner of that Stang was JIBBY.. While I wouldn't say it was unbeatable in its former Barrie life it is a good car for sure. Congrats on the B feature wins by the way.. You drove away from em thats for sure.. A good starting spot helps too, not to say you cant drive but you get my gist.

Davey, stefco series...lol....
What6 will the rules be? How will they even up the cars....? floaters, 602, standard, unlimited cam? I assume we will have a base of 3100 and the weight will then be added

Well this sucks I'm going to miss the first two races for sure. I got caught
up in the middle of a big wreck Friday night at Kawartha and bent the clip on the old pontiac. Just stripping it now and trying to decide weather to have it pulled or to replace it myself.

That sucks DAN.. I look forward to being at a track when I know your car will be there.. And I also know you race mostly every invi so that must sting a little.. You did have a pretty good night at the Downs in the season opener .. Finished 6th or something?? Way to go buddy and hope to see and meet you at the Barrie Stefco race on Aug 20th.. Dave Vokey
