Rick Spencer-Walt Scores Top-15 in APC Meineke 100 at Flamboro
Despite losing the power steering early in the event, Rick Spencer-Walt hang in there for a top-15 finish on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway.
Spencer-Walt timed in at 15.179 seconds in the second APC Auto Parts United Late Models of Ontario Tour event of 2017, qualifying him 14th for the 100-lap main event.
Starting just outside of the top-10, he was set to move up some spots when he’d lose the power steering on Lap 10. Despite that, he hung in there, battling just inside the top-10 through the middle portion of the event, before crossing the finish line in 14th-place.
The Spencer-Walt Motorsports team will now put their focus towards the fourth night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series / Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model competition at Sunset Speedway, looking to score their fourth victory in a row, following a win in the second feature on May 13, Spring Velocity on May 22, and the second feature on June 3. He currently sits fifth in points, just 20 markers behind Gord Shepherd for the top spot.
