STAHLE DOMINATES WITH LUCAS OIL CAN-AM MIDGETS AT PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY

Adrian Stahle was the class of the field Saturday night as the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets joined the special race card at Peterborough Speedway for the 'Autism Awareness Night'. Winning his heat race and leading 24 of the 25 laps in the 'A' Main, Stahle was excited with the win. "After our final practice, my Dad made just a minor adjustment and the car was on rails, said Stahle. I need to thank Lucas Oil for all their support of this series as well as LARCA Custom Machining, Bell Cartage, Paragon Collision Centre and Can-Am Fabrication. And a special thanks to Paul and Mike Husby, helping every week at the track. This has been a great night!"
This is the fifth different winner in five races for 2016, including 2 'First Time Winners'.

Steve Murdock lined up on pole for the feature event followed by Stahle, Rob Neely and Darren Dryden. Before the first lap could be completed, Jeff Blackburn spun on the backstraight bringing out the caution. At the restart Murdock shot out to the lead going into turn one. Stahle was on his tail and took over the point on the next lap. Neely was third with Dryden and Adam Racine in the top five. Ryan Fraser had a strong car and passed Racine 2 laps later to get into the top five. Dryden was closing on Neely and took over third. Stahle opened up a large lead over the field as Murdock now had to battle with Dryden. Neely and Fraser raced side by side for fourth place and Darren McLennan caught up to the lead pack with Mack DeMan on his rear.

At the halfway point Stahle was way ahead of the field as Murdock kept command of second. Dryden kept in third as Fraser and Neely continued to race hard for that position. Fraser took the spot and DeMan was now knocking on Neely's door. One lap later DeMan was in fourth. Murdock began to fall back in the field and Dryden was now in second. DeMan passed Neely and set his sites on Fraser.

What Stahle did not want to see happened on lap 18 as the caution came out for a spin by McLennan. Brandon Zavarella couldn't avoid and made slight contact. Both went pitside with McLennan out but Zavarella returned to the back of the field for the restart. When the green flag again flew, Stahle wasted no time getting his lead back followed by Dryden, Fraser, DeMan and Neely. The final laps ran unchanged and Stahle saw the winners trophy waiting for him in Victory Lane.

Heats were won by Stahle and Murdock. The Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets head north for a doubleheader for the Canadian July 1st Holiday weekend at Sauble Speedway. They will be racing on Friday, July 1st and Saturday, July 2nd.
