Car Count - Changes
« on: May 26, 2011, 12:24:43 PM »
Does anyone know if the car count has increased this year? New rookies? Colour scheme changes? I read on a blog that Danniel Wilson is expecting a baby so she will be on the sidelines this year.

I was told over the winter that Flamboro/Ohsweken regular Mike Taylor has a Pro Challenge car now.

I heard there was an Earnhardt Wrangler car at Sunset practicing that looked awesome. That must be one of the new drivers. Anyone know who it is?

That car does look great. It is Dale Wilson , he raced last year with Pro Challenge. The car has a new body his year , a mustang body. Keep your fingers crossed Varney should be the opening race as long as the rain holds off. My guess is 22 to 24 cars.

Thanks for the info pit now. I must be loosing my mind in my old age. I thought Dale Wilson ran the 8 car and was looking pretty good at the end of the season. I wish I could make Varney but too many commitments will prevent that.

Dale did run the #8 last year, but that body is hanging in my garage as a spare now.  Wilson kept the new colors, number and body under wraps over the off-season, and while I haven't see it myself in person, the photos look great.

I'll have the #5 eKartingNews.ca Monte Carlo out for its first race of the year at Varney on June 25th.  Looking forward to getting back out with the guys.  I believe that there are a couple new drivers other than Taylor, such as Dan Fraser in the #17.  He picked up a car from the US in the off-season.

The Varney Show was great. About 18 of the Pro Challoenge Cars were on hand. The usual suspects were up front during the heats but, it was sophmore drive Kyle Batty who took the win in the feature. By the way, the features were supposed to be twin 25's but rain at Intermission left the track wet for the rest of the weekend. Batty was fast regardless. The second 25 lapper would have been good as Thompson and K.Nicholson were closing in at the end of the first feature. The plan was to have them bunch back up and start the second the way they finished the first.

It was a great format and I hope we do it again when they come back to Varney in two weeks.

1 round of heats and twin 25's.....it was awesome.

Love these cars, the whole group is great to work with and we would open our gates for the Pro Challenge series in a heartbeat. Any time, any day.

Thanks Kathy and all your drivers and crew for another great race at Varney. Can't wait for the 25th.
