will let you know if I see anything. I found the times for the Nov 1 show on the bottom of the Octoberfest Schedule! Man-they got to clean up that website and keep it updated if they expect any business. Also they have to clarify the mini stock rules as I've heard they are allowing multi valve cars to participate without major weight additions.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Flamboro To Host Frost Fest 150
October 22, 2009

HAMILTON, ON – Flamboro Speedway has added one more exciting event to the grass roots
racing season, making it the longest running schedule of any stock car track in southern Ontairo.
Riding the momentum of a thrilling Oktoberfest Weekend, the FROST FEST 150 will be an
invitational event for the Thunder Car and Mini Stock divisions. Full fields of both classes
provided highlight events at the annual racing festival in October, and many of the top talents
are expected to participate in this late season event. Flamboro Speedway rules will apply;
Interested competitors who are not Flamboro regulars should contact Race Director Don Cox for
information on potential equipment handicaps – (519) 846-8158.
FROST FEST 150 – Presented by
Hoosier Canada
The Source For Home Comfort
and Ray’s Towing

SUNDAY November 1st
Pit gates open 11 am
Grandstand opens 1 pm
Green Flag Racing 2 pm

THUNDER CARS will compete in Three 30-lap feature events. Qualifying will be run as heat
races plus a last chance qualifying event; Double heats will be run if the car count is less than 24.
The first feature race will be a heads up start. The winner of the first race will roll two dice in the
winner’s circle to determine the inversion of lead lap cars for the starting lineup of the second
race. This process will be repeated for the third feature. Should the same driver win the first
two races, a third dice will be added to the roll in the winner’s circle.
Should a qualified driver start in race one but fail to make the lineup for race two, a ‘bubble’ car
may be invited to fill the field. It is the promoter’s option to determine which cars – if any - may
be added to the field.
Drivers will earn points for their performance in each race. The total points earned on the day
will determine the final paying performance ranking.

BONUS Monies: There is a $3,000 prize to the driver who can win all three races in the same
car. Should no driver complete this feat, the prize will be shared through the top five ranked
drivers overall.

Why not post the rules. Better to have rules in print than  a phone conversation . Everyone then knows what they are and the same for everyone. I don't trust any track that's not upfront with there invitational rules. It usually means they will make the rules up as they go and screw visitors.

i agree speedy,  rules would be nice, especially for 16v minis. GET THEM POSTED!

that said, visiting cars have always been home track rules. that means that almost every mini that comes gets to be several hundred pounds lighter than the Flamboro ones because Flammy has "heavy-weight" rules. Also everyone else gets to run Azenis tires or some other soft compound , flamboro guys can't, and lest anyone thinks it doesn't matter, look at what amost everyone runs if Azenis are allowed. visitors are allowed high-offset rims and can also swap/cut springs. So flamboro cars have to be much heavier, run poorer tires on narrow track rims with stock suspension. If someone is getting screwed, it's not the visitors...

i would assume the 10 car from last week would have to run the same weight penalties as the flammy 12v do this time...i have posted on the flammy chat board and a few have made mention that the penalities should be posted so people arent having to waste time and money making phone calls...

Hallelujah im with you , never go anywhere they don't have posted rules and never go anywhere you have to start scratch all day at races that are known to have very large fields . Coming out of the back for your heats is enough of a crap shoot but starting 24Th , 26Th or 30Th in one of these invitationals is dancing with the devil . Odds are 50/50 you are going to need a tow truck to load it on the trailer .

On dirt Merritville and Humberstone minimun weight for 240 Nissan's is 3100 lbs and Mitchell Brown was dominant with his  .  Barrie 240 Nissan's weigh 2640 lbs and the Melonhorsts own the place with one . At Sunset 240s only have to weigh 2300 lbs and i would expect Nissan's to dominate next year .

Mitchell Brown races a Mustang at Oshweken, not a 240 at Merittville. James Small ran a Nissan Stanza on the penninsula dirt tracks occasionally with the 2.4 nissan and ran well even at a heavy weight
Doug Butler wins most features already at Sunset with his Nissan. I believe he said his car is 200lbs over the legal weight at sunset (makes it 2500?).

I was told it was the track officials that were gunning for him, apparently he was told outright that they were going to get him because they heard he was so fast.lol. As far as the flammy regulars weighing more, dont run an invite with hometrack rules that put your regulars at a disadvantage or bring your rules up to date with everyone else.

cant see the rules being update too soon.
too many mustangs, if you race flammy you would know what i mean.
and yes your home track guys shouldnt be put at a disadvantage for invitationals.

i believe the stanza of small's was banned and it has been parked and for sale all season.
mitchell brown won every feature except one in 2009 at ohsweken with a mustang.

if they were gunning for him, then starting him pole and making the other guys start tail was a great way to do it..lol.
