Very exciting race with lots of passing throughout the field on a chilly night. Sauble is in my opinion after Kawartha, the best track for Late Model side by side racing in the province and the drivers who were there tonight put on a lot of 2 groove racing. Only 4 caution flags.

Big negative was only 17 cars (and 3 or 4 of those were Limited Late Models from Sauble) for a $3,000 to win, $400 to start show.

Unofficial top 5:

1.Dion Verhoeven
2.Jason Shaw
3.Ron Sheridan
4.Mark Watson
5.David Elliott (nice sportsmanship on his part by pointing out to then leader Shaw that he had a tire going down under caution which Shaw was able to change in time and then come through from the back for second)

Gotta go and get ready for Kawartha ACT Sunday!

Thanks for the updates gents!

Looks like a good night for the Delaware LM crowd. Wish I'd have been there. Of the guys that no-showed at Delaware on Fri, the Hookerman was the most disappointing. Glad to see he was up and running though.

That business between Shaw and Elliott sounds like good sportsmanship. Some of those Flam guys are pretty straight up guys and I always enjoy watching them race.

How is Sauble for posting results? I'd like to know all who was there.

Shadowracer reason Hooker was no show Friday would not surprise me that seeing he was going for $3000.00 to win and $400.00 to start that he passed on Delaware where all you are getting is a smash and bang it seems when you go there this year so far and if not mistaken it looked like Verhoeven was there also who if not mistaken missed Friday also.Maybe this is a message to Delaware which is the elite of Short Track Racing in Ontario if not Canada that if things donot change with the racing style there (LM) fields could get smaller there as remember it costs to fix these machines and money is getting harder to find.Hope not as Delaware puts on a great show every Friday night.

im just going to make a stab at this one, but id guess the #91 was probably Scott McGillvery (Sp.?) in the Shear Metal Products car. He ran at Flamboro last Saturday night in the Triple Crown event too...

It was a pretty good race to watch. I think Shaw used up his stuff getting back to the front. He looked a little tight at the end and couldn't get under the 77. It was nice to see the 02 come back and try to challenge for a top 3 at the end. He ended up 4th, but still a good run as he ended up bouncing off the wall once and almost riding up the wall on another occasion. Sheridan looked strong too but ended up a little further back as he was involved in a caution or 2. Hooker looked strong in the first half of the race. I think the handle went away in the car in the 2nd 75 laps.
Might have been a little more interesting had they done double file restarts all night long instead of 1-2-3 double up. But all in all a pretty good race. I expected it to a be a little more boring, but I was proven wrong.

Well, word around the pits is that Verhoeven is "playing it casual" this year and isn't seriously gunning for Delaware points, much like Sheridan did either last year or the year before.

Hooker had a bad night last time around, finding himself out with mecahnical problems around lap 5 of the 142 lapper and didn't make it back out. That seriously puts him behind the 8 ball for NASCAR points, as he effectively blew 3 races in one night...and nothing to do with any rough driving.

I've watched every LM race this year and have not noticed a whole lot of rough driving. Past years have been a lot worse, to be honest. Even at the Partsource race, most of the cautions were just from either impatience or bad luck...and no one really wrecked huge that night except for Gary Elliott in one incident and McLuskey/Delisle in another.

Not saying there's no rough driving, but there's not an alarming amount of it. I'm not a driver so I could be off base, but I dont imagine its the reason anyone would stay away.
