I'm 90% certain heims are ok. Shock will be Pro WB, with 4 differnt rates spec'd. Ride height will be 5".

Madracer, not sure where you got $500, but I was sure it was more than that. It was $400 last year to win thunder..

Its going to replace the thunder class at Mosport.

Right now there are 10 guys that have said they would do it. 4 of us who where running thunder and the balance LLM's.

Ross - is this a new class between Thunder and LLM?

Just got back from the Mosport rules meeting regarding a new class that will be added next year.

For LLM drivers:

For those of you with a camero clip overslung chassis, that might not be keeping up with the newer cars, this could be of interest.

For Thunder drivers:

If you are tired of trying to find rusty old stock chassis, you would be freer to incorporate old challenger cars and LLMs into the build and still remain legal for other tracks. Lets face it, that is already being done in the class as it is.

I made a STRONG point at the meeting to test these cars on the track to get the rules right. As it stands now, the track will be testing a LMM camero clip car, no Thunder rubber against a metric front running thunder. Purpose here is to get the weights correct so they cars can run together.

For the rules as they stand now, based on today's discussion..

Class will be open to any thunder chassis, i.e. camero, metric. This group of cars will have a weight of 3150.

LLM overslung chassis will be allowed. Those with 3-link rears, and rear disks will have to weight a weight to be determined after testing, and meet the 55% left 45% rear weight rules.

Front and rear load bolts will be allowed for all cars (for invitational purposes of running track with no front load bolts you could just tack them in place once set)

No body rule other than it must look like a car. Steel, or glass bodies allowed.

Transmission, any automatic, no penalty for glides

gear rule, 5.00 final can be run straight up

engine rule: Built engine option to current thunder rules. Cast exhaust with 2 1/4 exit, and 2 1/4 pipe to muffler. Any muffler, must be under 96 db at 100 ft.

602 allowed, with the 4412 cab, cast exhaust and 100 lbs over the base weight (i.e an ex-thundercar 3150 lbs + 100 lbs, an ex-llm (whatever is decided from testing) + 100 lbs)

64" track width, all cars

Hoosier 790 track tire

Payout is $1,000 to win (sorry if I got that wrong)

And that's about it.

The concern I have now, is getting the weight correct for the ex-LLMS in this class so they are not running away from metric cars. If that is done correctly, I think this should be a good class.

It will allow a bit more freedom on the chassis, which might be a good thing considering the limited supply of camero/metric/a-body decent frames that are out there.
