robk66 your car was very fast last year but that was before the track opened the door for these new generation cars. These cars(2000 and newer) are programable from a lap top ..how much horse power does an ecotech make(175 to 200 HP aprox)and the Neons or newer Hondas...new style suspensions. these cars are gonna be rockets

You must not realize that all the 88+ Hondas can be tuned really easily too!  And the neons are difficult to tune unless you are running a standalone ecu.

At capital city they let us do what we want to the computers but we still need to dyno under 140hp. One thing weight will never ever equal everything an the guys who make there cars turn better than others can still be competitive with the guys who spend lots of $$. Tech jould have in place 1 guy for the minis because there are so many combos out there to work!

well he could have had a championship but when he had a 1/2 track lead he wouldnt let off ...bouncing off the chip constantly going thru corners isnt good on them..

other tracks run twin cam nows right?, the flamboro cars are still single cam...my cav was setup like the others, i had the least kms on the motor 180,000 kms...i ran junk tires except for one falken, the not as good one, on the RF and i would qualify top 12th to 15th...but the other guys went to the dunlops 1/2 thru the season and were right with that 15g car...
on the dirt hughes with his neon R/T could pretty well win every week but he broke alot of motors...

the rules aren't bad, just a few anomalies that may get them in trouble.

dohc ecotechs  145hp  2500lbs
dohc neon        150 hp 2500lbs
sohc neon         135hp 2200lbs
sohc neon r/t    150 hp 2200lb
sohc nissan       145 hp 2700lbs
dohc nissan       150 hp 2700lb
dohc accuras      140 hp 2500lb
dohc nonvtec honda  135-140 hp?    2500lbs. not a ton of these came stock, most hot dohc are vtec
dohc vtec honda 130-200hp. not allowed
mustangs  open rules sorta hp???? 2200lb

so u can play ecu games and get a bit more well thats competition. not alot different than changing the jets in a carb and moving the distributor for timing, and it's cheap tuning so why outlaw it? it's not like you had to buy a 350 holley and a header for $$$, that's the real stupid $$$ rule. Mustangs are a wild card because money CAN buy you alot of hp (and how light can you get 'em too?), and neon r/t is obviously overlooked. There is no way one of the highest hp 4 cyl 16v  available should get to run 300 lbs lighter than the rest. and Butler being so dominant has hurt it for Nissans it seems

Yup !

and..

I said guys have 3-5 into motors. Not that everyone has 5 grand motors.

A 5 grand thunder car will get you lapped pretty quick.

To win mini in Barrie pays $300. Thunder 12th is $90

At least get facts straight before you make an argument for/against anything.

mustangs at flamboro are spending upwards of 5 grand to keep up with stock nissans and cavaliers...i'm told the nissans are but i know for sure the cavaliers are cuz i helped build them...
years ago when i ran my stock 2.2 dodge i had a couple of mustang guys telling me i was cheating cuz they couldnt pass me with their motors done by an F4's engine builder for $2500...why do guys spend all this money...10g's and up to win $125 to $200 in minis...i always told them to move up and stop wrecking the class...but now the jump is HUGEEE...so both classes are going to crap...i can tell you the dirt guys down here have it right...merrittville, humberstone and ohsweken run pretty well the same rules, 3 different nights for both minis and thunders...no wonder more pavement guys are trying it and alot are staying cuz pavement racing costs are getting stupid...
