tigeraid the biggest cost diff from dirt to pavement for minis is tires....and talking about ohsweken...what is unreal is that on dirt u have to make the feature to make any $$$....look at ohsweken, full fields with consis and there are cars going home with nothing, not a dime....they dont have tow money!!!...and still they all show up...in minis u have to finish better than 6th to get more than $35 for feature payout last i saw...last nite i think there were 31 minis, so 7 cars went home with zip...and then a few in the thunders...and a few in the sprints...but those same minis, except for the 16v's, and thunders can try again at merrittville saturday or humberstone on sunday...and that CRX wasnt legal last year, the year after it won the championship...

It wasn't so much that it wasn't legal, at 2400lbs it wouldn't be as crazy fast.  The year it won the championship the weight rule was 1lb for each CC of displacement + 250lbs, with the driver. Karl's a pretty good size boy so I would guess that car weighed about 1850lbs with out him in the seat. 1800 cc plus 250lbs is where the 2050lbs for under 1900 cc came from I would bet.
