Yes ready 2 race it would be a good date in sept ,but only  a good race if they figure out how to double their car count .  10 cars on a 5/8 is not a 100 or even a 50 lapper field it is a trophy dash race.

If a series ever needed the crate motor rule it is the OSS . I have heard through the grapevine that they only had 6 cars in the race at Sauble at the end and 5 on the lead lap when the great Ashley Taws had her fantastic finish .

I did like the idea of putting a couple of dirt races on the schedule sort of like ARCA . I hope the series survives because I do like the concept

Yes there were 10 cars but great racing... 10 cars started each race.. and Ashley got her wheels that race... look out she will be there... Hryniuk finaly hooked up and ran for brook not missing a beat in the second fifty wathch as the black sheap is coming on strong...

Sorry but 10 cars does not make for a great race and never did . Five or six cars at the finish makes for a horrible race and is why the OSS is cancelled .

Hey Pinecrest,

There were 16 cars at Cayuga - and for a series that is 5 months old; not bad - the racing at Sauble was fantastic - the promoter was thrilled with the show that the drivers put on and wants the series back in 2008.
Cayuga pulled the event not because of the car count but because they didn't feel that they would get a crowd - something that they've been struggling with all year - $40.00 for a saturday night show may be a good start to fixing the problem.
And here - here to getting a car......if your too old and crabby to drive why don't you buy one and get yourself a driver.  It's easy to sit back in your armchair and stout it out but it's something else to get involved.......and if you give me that crap about "back in my day" - I'll puke.  Leave "Back in the day" to Dale Jr. and join the rest of us in the real world.

One thing l could guarantee you is that miserable, grouchy, crabby, self opinionated, old pinecrest would not be dumb enough to get a car in the OSS, it reminds me of those  steaks we barbequed  over at Pinecrests  race shop, stick a fork in it they are done.

Pinecrest:
FYI the OSS had all 10 cars running at the end in Sauble, well all except for Steve Robblee who was getting too much pressure from Ashley and decided to park in the infield with 4 to go.

The OSS does allow crate motors.

I realize that but what I am saying is it is the series that would greatly benefit from going all crate ..

Speaking to a LM driver I have known for over 30 years that was there , his take on the race is very much different then yours .

RC you seem like a knowledgable guy and from the list of tracks that you have on the "what tracks have you been to" thread you have seen allot of racing over the years but you really want me to believe that Steve parked his car because of pressure from Taws ?

I will probably be speaking to Steve in the next week or two and will post his thoughts about the race but you really need to quit posting nonsense like that as it just undermines your own cred.

Just a couple points...
#1- The OSS show for the 14th was cancelled due to the Speedway's misfortune of not getting the permit from the town to have the Rock Concert that was supposed to be part of the show. Without the 18 bands that were scheduled to perform the Track Owners felt that the OSS would be a tuff go on its own.
#2- I think the track should run the OSS show in conjunction with the NASCAR CTS show as both series need more fans and I think race fans would consider this to be a better bang for the buck.
#3- Pinecrest your idea of a crate motor is going to be on the agenda for 2008 but not until that date. The OSS made the rule kind of open on the motors for two good reasons. The first was - run what youve got- saving teams money and allowing them to run the motors out they already had. The Second reason was that they need a Crate program that can assure the motors to be equal, GM/Ford/Dodge, and that will take a while. The only engine builder I know that is trying to sucseed at this is Jasper and they are still working on it.

For everyone picking on Pinecrest here- he is only stating his idea's and I for one support his theroy of the Crate Motor. As for the car count of 10- he is right again. Ten cars does not make a race, but you have to consider the OSS is new and it will take some time to build the series. I know for fact that the OSS is going to pay big bucks in 2008 and the winnings will pay more then the NASCAR CTS deal. Once they announce the payouts you will see allot of teams jumping ship from the CTS to the OSS.

When you get into a series that is out of the Saturday night form, it takes allot of time and money to get it off and running. The NASCAR CTS is also new this year, and the car counts have gone down from the first race of the year till now. The last race at Barrie only had 20 cars, and the races out West that are coming up next will more then likely be smaller yet as several teams refused to spend $20,000 to journey West, when the race winner's payout is only $4800.00 for Vernon and $2800.00 for Edmonton, as rummored at this time.
All new series take's time to build, and at least 2 years of racing before people can judge the future of the series itself.
I for one think the OSS is going in the right direction but it needs an Owner to indorse it, run it, and sell it. For 2008 I think the schedule should be at least 8 Ovals, 1 Road Course, and 2 events on Dirt, all Twin 50 lappers with the field inverted for the second show.

As for Pinecrests comments I would have to say I agree with most of them, at least the comments he makes that are real ones, and not the ones he puts on here just to get you all fired up......
