Howdy folks.. Bit of a wild and lengthy night at Barrie that featured two separate rain delays and a red flag incident in the first Thunder Car heat for a wreck out of turn two involving #21 Desi Walt and #37 Robbie Sikes.. The two would hit the wall simultaneously out of turn 2 with Walt going for a wild ride as she rolled her vehicle on its roof and then back on its 4 wheels again before coming to a halt.. Happy to report both drivers were ok as Walt went to hospital just to get checked out but was back at the track in time to spot for her dad Bill in the feature after he took over the reins for the rest of the night in what became a Modified like looking Thunder Car when all was said and done.. Kudos to track management for sticking this one out and making sure the entire show got in and was over by midnight even with 3 separate delays and an extra class on hand, and also to the Thunder Cars as well for drying the track on two separate occasions.. Nice to see a few visiting drivers turn up after several area tracks cancelled their shows.. On behalf of Barrie Speedway I would like to thank those drivers for coming and some for trying out the track, some for their very first time.. I hope you all had fun and enjoyed yourselves.. Onto the results!!!
