Belyea and Mutton Compete with O’Reilly All Stars Last Weekend
Craig Revelle – Finish Line Web Design

August 17, 2010

A pair of mid-week races with the O’Reilly All Star Late Models highlighted the week for Greg Belyea and his Excel Tower Service team.  A Wednesday night event at Autodrome Granby in Granby, Quebec was followed by a visit to the Brockville Ontario Speedway on Thursday.

First up was a stop at Autodrome Granby in Quebec.  Belyea ran a great race, and avoided the carnage that left many cars with heavy damage.  Belyea was very competitive and at the checkered flag, he took home a solid seventh place finish.

At Brockville on Thursday night, the second member of the Excel Tower Service team, Jeff Mutton, joined Belyea.   Both drivers qualified through the heat race, with Belyea placing fourth in his qualifying heat, and Mutton finishing fifth.  After making some changes to both cars before the 50 lap feature they were ready for another shot at the tough BOS track, as both drivers had crashes in their previous appearance at the track.  Belyea stared the feature from 15th place, moved forward.  On a lap 13 caution, Belyea had advanced to 11th while Mutton continued to struggle with the handling issues on his Excel Tower Service car.  Belyea crossed the finish line with a strong tenth place run, While Mutton finished in 17th.

Belyea and Mutton will be back in action this coming Saturday night at Brighton Speedway as Excel Tower Service is sponsoring the Ontario Dirt Late Model Series race at the track.  After that, the team will put the Crate Motor back in Belyea’s car and will search for as many races as they can find.
