Ladouceur Picks up Pro Stock Feature Win at Autodrome Drummond

A pair of events filled Joey Ladouceur’s racing schedule this past weekend. First up was a trip to Autodrome Drummond in Drummondville, Quebec on Saturday night, and then it was the normal Sunday night at Cornwall Motor Speedway.
The weekend started out for Joey Ladouceur at Autodrome Drummond, as they left the track picking up their ninth win of the season in his Coffrage 20-20, Mr. Radiator Auto Service, Fence Depot, Glengarry Truck Centre. Minimax Transportation, Stinger X Chassis.
On Sunday night at Cornwall, a win would definitely the goal for the Ladouceur team, but they had something bigger in mind. Ladouceur had the chance to clinch the 2010 Cornwall Speedway track championship. Taped to the dashboard to start the 20-lap Pro Stock feature were the car numbers and point positions for the drivers that Ladouceur had to finish ahead of in the feature to get the title. A sixth place finish on this night by Ladouceur was just enough to lock up the 2010 title.
It was a historic night for the Ladouceur family, as for just the second time only, Joey and his father Laurent both won the track championships in their respective divisions. Laurent topped the 358 Modified division at Cornwall. The last time both drivers won in the same year was back in 2004.
This coming weekend will be a busy one for the Ladouceur team. On Wednesday night, they will travel to the Mohawk Raceway for the rescheduled Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Series race. Ladouceur had originally set fast time in practice before rain washed out the rest of the evening. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will also be on the evening’s schedule. On Sunday, another 50-lap race for Ladouceur and his fellow Pro Stock competitors will be on tap, this time for the Mohawk Race Parts Series at Cornwall Motor Speedway. Sunday’s race at Cornwall will be the final race of the Mohawk Race Parts series, and Ladouceur currently trails by just one point.
After Labor Day, the main focus for the Ladouceur team will shift to the Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Series. After Wednesday’s race at MIR, the next one is September 11th at Lebanon Valley Speedway.
