CENTRE for Speed set to host MONSTER TRUCKS

Riverview, NB -   Shediac's CENTRE for Speed is set to host the Maritimes largest ever Monster Truck Racing event this weekend.  In keeping with its MONSTER TRUCK mantra of "Go Big or Stay Home"  CFS has amassed field of seven Monster Trucks for it's 4th annual  D.R. Scrap Atlantic MONSTER Nationals which will run this Saturday and Sunday.  Trucks include some of the worlds best MONSTER JAM competitors including several world record holders such as Jon Zimmer (in his new "Excalibur" Truck),  RB Moler in WV Mountaineer, and Mike Vaters in "Black Stallion".  Other trucks include Jeff Bursey's "Towasauruswrex" and Tim Mente's "Storm Damage" plus Hurricane Force.  Iron Warrior rounds out the field of seven with Mike Vaters Jr at the helm and looking to make a name for himself.  Iron Warrior replaces Higher Education who was originally scheuled to appear until the truck suffered a major engine failure in a show last weekend.  The speedway says it has added some height to a few jumps and some additional infield elements to facilitate the Wheelie and Freestyle events and is hoping to continue to build on the success of last years show.

The "D.R Scrap Atlantic MONSTER Nationals" will once again kick off the annual Atlantic Speed Weeks events here at the CENTRE.  The two day 2 show event includes Monsters racing in an Dual Oval Drag racing competition, Freestyle and Wheelie events plus Lawn Tractor races, Monctons Mini Monsters RC group performing stunts on Saturday and a Demoltion event with 2 qualifying events on Sunday.  Saturdays event starts at 6pm with a "Pit Party" (where fans can meet the drivers and get autographs and pictures, etc on the track) starting at 5.  Gates open at 4PM.  Sundays event begins at 4PM with the Pit Parety at 3 and gates opening at 2.  As of 9 pm Friday Night there were still a few advance tickets available at Ayer Convenience in Moncton and the Shediac COOP.  General Admission tickets will also be available at the door.
