I think everybody is looking forward to the future.  At the meeting, I did not hear any negative feedback, minus the fact the ACT Castrol race is not coming back which is understandable.

Besides that, the atmosphere was a very positive one.  I am looking forward to the driver's meeting and having the schedule posted.  It will be nice to race only one Wed nights and bringing the focus back to local wednesday night racing!

Personally I am disappointed that there will be no ACT castrol race and no LUCAS sportsman cup. I can't make it to the track regularly on Wed. nights and liked to take in the weekend specials. I end up spending my dollars to go to the bigger races to the west or maybe take in some dirt stuff.

The saturday races were fun, but I am sure they will be back in the future.  Given the fact they are only starting right now in January, I can understand them wanting to drop some of the bigger stuff and get it back to building a weekly program and then look at bringing in series or bigger races in years to come.  I think just having the track re-paved will be a great thing for the weekly program and am very excited as a driver and fan for the future of CCS!

may be old news but thought I'd post. Heard the new promoter is a legend car guy named Jeremy. Frank Johnston is selling off all his Legends stuff. Kenyon racing is closing up shop.
Heard that apparently enough drivers convinced Drummond's not to renew Arnie's contract. He would have renewed. I am sure there are many sides to this story.

this was posted on ccs website
"The Rumour is not true".  Kenyon racing products does have their building up for sale but are looking to relocate.  Kenyon's is open and it is business as usual."

I had heard the closing from a pretty reliable source. Said not enough business to support 3 families and at least one of the sons had taken another job already and they would sell the building. Time will tell.

Ok first, yes the last name is Coulter....yes there will be racing.....the race director will be a surprise to everyone if it follows thru....Drummonds had to buy the website from Arnie.....any other questions?......sorry for being so vague but I don't have permission to go any further
I assume the ACT date was with Arnie so that will have to be renegociated, assuming the track will continue with an ACT late model class

I see the CCS website back up this morning.  :o More news to follow in Jan 2010. It'll be interesting to see how things go in 2010. Arnie and his team made some great strides at trying to bring CCS back from the dead. Hope everything works out for you motorsports freaks in Eastern Ontario :o

Also heard Jeremy Cloutier (sp) was taking over the track and there may be interest in getting the drag strip going again.

Didn't hear about Kenyons closing they produced some nice race cars over the years. guess it's a case of supply and demand these days.

Not to many people are building or buying race cars .

The sport needs the rules to be enforced so racing is more affordable .

Case in point the crate engines for Late models it was to lower cost but apparently some guys are spending 7,000. "refreshing" on top of the cost of the crate engine.

So were back to $12 ,000 - 14,000 engines . Figure in the cost of a chassis and you have $30,000  car racing for 600.00 to win. Unless your wealthy or have big sponsors you can't afford racing without going broke.

Same with tires if the rule allows two new tires a night enforce it ...Don't let the big buck teams slap on four tires and do nothing about it.

Just my two cents worth.

Better get off my soap box. (lol)

The last message posted before the CC site went down left me wondering too .

Kinda got a mixed message from reading it and the circumstances why Arnie left.

Ran into a guy who sells cars to Arnie and has a drag car he runs at Luskville and didn't think to ask him what was going on.

Wonder if the sponsors Arnie had go with the deal .

Or will the new guy have to start from scratch ?

In any event hope something happens soon.

Paving ?  gezz  I've been around the place almost 40 years.

Every time a new guy takes over there paving the place might be true this time around since Drummonds would have the equipment for paving.

well it's now official Arnie is not returning for 2010 , Somebody has planned to take it over but no news on who yet ..... the website does say that the track will be re -paved in 2010 wich is great , but they better make an announcement soon , all other tracks have their schedules out .....

Looks like the website is down and probably will be down until the new promotor takes it over, or has to make a new website.   All I have heard now is that "it's in the works" for the new promotor but do not know who will be taking it over.  I agree however the announcement needs to come soon!
