Doiron Gets Podium Finish at Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday Night

Finally, after three consecutive rainouts at Cornwall Motor Speedway, Joel Doiron was able to return to the track to conclude the final night of points for the 2010 racing season.

Doiron started the night with a third place run in his qualifying heat race, locking him into the 30-lap feature.  Doiron took advantage of his top five starting spot in the main event, and jumped to third place early in the race.  While Doiron was unable to gain ground on the leaders, he didn’t lose any either, and finished the race in third place.

“The car was good, but it was a tough night to pass.  Everyone was running their car on the bottom, as there was no grip at all on the top of the track.  We will take this third place finish and move on to next week”, says Doiron.

This coming weekend, Doiron will be back at Cornwall for a 100 lap Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified series event.  The best 358 Modified drivers in the Northeast will be on hand, and Doiron looks to have a good run to end the season at Cornwall.

“It is hard to believe we are entering the final weekend of racing here at Cornwall.  It seems like the season just started and now we have come down to the final weekend.  The key on Sunday will be to get a good time trial run, and get a good starting spot in the heat race.  I always looking forward to running with the series when they come up here”, says Doiron.

Our 2010 racing season would not be possible without the assistance of our great sponsors.  Mike Sauvé Construction, Group Express, Home Hardware Alexandria, Benson Auto Parts, Garage Le Specialiste Dicaire, W.H. MacSweyn Inc., Glengarry Kitchen Cabinets, Marc Rouette Maintenance, Les Fondations Deguire, Go Geo, Home Team Inspection Service, Walker Climate Care, Boutique Lafleur, Envrio-Tec, Mister Sew and Sew Custom Embroidery, Richard Ranger Carpet and Bicknell Racing Products have all been an integral part of the success that this team has had this season.
