2015 Honda Indy GP of Alabama Pre-Race Notes & Quotes

From the California coast in Long Beach to Birmingham, Alabama (via a quick stop in Indy), the #98 BHA team covered some miles this week. The Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama is the third race in as many weeks for the Verizon IndyCar Series and the last before heading to Indianapolis for the month of May.

The Barber Motorsports Park features a 2.3 mile 17-turn natural-terrain road course with a wide variety of corners and massive elevation changes. Barber is a challenging track for drivers and engineers. The track is narrow, passing is difficult, and this weekend's weather calls for rain and storms on Saturday.

In addition to the incredible views around the track, Barber has a motorsports museum that is a must visit for every race fan.  There are also a variety of sculptures and art all around the 300+ acre facility making it one of the most attractive sports parks in America...

Gabby Chaves on Honda Indy GP of Alabama:
“Our first test with the new aero-kit was in March at Barber, and we've learned so much about the car since then. It is a very challenging track, and with passing at a premium we must focus on qualifying better. I just hope the weather cooperates.”

Bryan Herta on Honda Indy GP of Alabama:
“Barber Motorsports Park is such a unique and challenging circuit.  Qualifying is critically important at this track, so that will be our focus during practice.  Looks likely to be a wet Saturday and then dry Sunday, so that should add a little extra drama too.  The goal for us is to execute a good qualifying session and then run a clean race, if we accomplish that, we should achieve our best results of the season easily.  Gabby and the team are looking forward to getting back on track.”
