The belief is that Sunset is in the works of being sold.

As usual Ann is always there with the rumors !! get out your check book Ann than you can enjoy all of the gossip.

looks like the new owners were at sunset last night.  I guess it wasn't a rumor after all. Cheers to the best thing that could have happened to Sunset in a long time.
Was at sunset last night and met the new owners also Mark Dilley,Linda Jones and the new track directer/promoter Steve Slaughter Sr. I can tell you one thing, they are pumped at getting things going, sounds like they have some vantastic ideas.

As far as I have told racing is the same and the schedule is the same so go racing and leave the other stuff to Wes and whom ever is looking in to buying the track.

my question is. if there is going to be new ownership at Sunset this year. Is the track still running the same schedule that has been posted with the 100 lappers for thunders and late models? also is there going to be a points championship as stated in the past there was apparently going to be no points, just money awarded. Thirdly are the purses that are posted on the site going to remain the same under new ownership? I could care less who owns it. Wes welcomed us with open arms last year to run a handful of races and we never had any problems with the staff. To add to that Mark Dilley did a great job at Barrie when he had some ownership there. So doesn't matter who is going to operate it, as long as there will be racing there this summer.

well back from hiatus mike smith is here to weigh in on the current events of sunset speedway...now from rumours/very reliable sources disclosing information to me id personally like to welcome mark dilley as the new management of sunset speedway and as for this magical letter received by Wes that he so graciously posted here for all of us to read and critique intricately it has come to my attention and others I'm sure that when you are a professional in whatever career you may be in with clients you do not refer to them using their first name especially in a salutation in an email it would read "to whom it may concern" or Mr. or Mrs. so and so or sir depending on the situation i believe that someone may possibly be trying to carry on as if nothing is happening when everyone seems to notice the inevitable but who am i to say...I'm just a mere peasant in this world of racing but i do believe when all is said and done someone will have egg on their face and i do not believe it will be mark dilley and i will be there to say "i told you so"...forgive the lateness of this reply to this post i apologize if this is somewhat old news but I've been on hiatus with work...but have returned :)

Cheers

Mike

The joke wasn't funny but it was funny how he made them think they were going to get the news before everyone else.

That was funny....although I don't think RTR guys thought it was to funny....think they thought they were actually gonna be able to break the news on the show hahaha.

Just to clear it up for those who missed RTR. Shame on you.

Spencer was asked if he knew anything about Sunset. In regards to all the rumors. Spencer said he did and he said the superfriends are the new owners.
