Nice write up there Wade. Would you consider redoing the Brian Watt special that is posted right now on their site... OMG.... http://sunsetspeedway.ca/Reports.html (I think the enter key was broken on the keyboard because there is no paragraphs).

Matt I didn't have to pay for a 10 year old (oops 11 she had birthday on Thursday). It was a bit of a clusterfluck though. I went to kid sign in booth and was told I couldn't sign in there I could only fill out form and then had to go over to other line up with my signed form. I then stood in a line up for 10 minutes and was told oh no this is wrong line up this is for the people paying $20 you have to go to that line up. I stood in that line up for 10 minutes (now been half an hour with racing starting in 45 minutes and work to do on my car) and when I got there person from the $20 booth came over and helped anyways.

There is a new system there now where you can't pay for yourself, get payout and sign in kid at that booth. You also don't need the crew cards (like I ever used them). There is a sign in sheet with each drivers name on there and 4 lines for crew. You have to have your crew sign in under your name to get in for $18 then anybody over the 4 pays $20. I also just handed over the pre signed form to them and they put on a kid band but maybe I was suppose to pay there just seemed to be confusion all around.

That was the rule at Sunset as well untill a couple of years ago. I think Glenn allowed it as their were a couple of LLM drivers that pitted near us that asked for it.
The same applied to them at the front gate or the pit gates, under 12 free, my 16 year old that does not come often always pays full pop. (No student discounts either).
I don't have a problem with the 14 and older rule I just don't think it should cost the kids 20 bucks. At the very least warn people you are changing the rules before hand. However that would hand in hand with good communication down there wouldn't it.....lol

Thayne we have approached them about the 16 valves, and really you saw two of the front running Hondas run with you guys on Wednesday, we have no more to offer than what we gave wednesday,  and there are cars on that track that are quicker than we are. I really don't see the big deal, Brad did say it makes most of their testing equiptment obsolete as they have no experience with the 16's. I may keep at it with them and see what happens. The thing is I can run a $300 boneyard motor to come out and  play and be competitive in order to do the same with a 12 valve you are spending some serious coin to tweak those things out and I am not intrested. Maybe after the next two invitationals they may consider it who knows.
I heard last Saturday they brought a Honda geek in to enlighten Don and rest on the 16 valve motors at Sunset and there are a whole bunch of new rules coming down the pipe for ZC's and Y7's.....from what I heard the guy knows as much about them as I know about LLM which isn't much, but it was enough to give them some ammo to smack some penalties down on all these guys.

hey matty, find a 12 valve and come run with us....we wld love the competition and u n ur boys are great ppl!

If you do it Matt I'll be there to watch.  With all the crap I hear happening at SS I'll hit BSW from now on (and it's closer too :) ).

But one question though - wouldn't the kids get charged at the pit gate at BSW as well?  Or is that 12 & under free apply at the pit gates too?

Mark

Kids have to be 14 to be able to enter the pits at BSW.

Ah yes double features but I'd still trade both of them for that one Thunder car one that got away! who knows maybe another rain out for Barrie next week that would be excellent and I'll put the word out to the Kawartha boys see if we can't have us a "Humdinger"

Indeed...

I couldn't make it last nightbut something really pissed me off, I sent my kids 11 and 8 with their grandpa to watch the races, both of my kids have been going to these races for 5+ years, my 11 yo son is with me in the pits every saturday I am there. I gave them both 20 bucks each to by some pizza and crap and found out this morning we have yet another smokin' bonus on the list of new schitt with Wes....both these kids had to surrender that 20 bucks each to get into the pits with gramps.
I understand up untill a couple years ago kids were not allowed in the pits, this was something Glenn did and was a great thing for families that race. As well I would not have a problem ponying up a few bucks to pay to get them in, charging an 11 and 8 year old 20 bucks each is BS.

12 and under free at BSW and Students are 10 bucks that will be the last time SS chokes any money from me for my kids.

And we all thought $22.00 For 2 heats and a Feature was bad. The closser you get to the top the worst you are treated.

man i wanted to run sooo bad....and I got all the 24 cars max and stuff but the attitude we got from baldy and not getting the money back really turned me off...we saw 1 feature and King of the Hill.

meh, we will see if we head to the frosty....i just wanna say the rest of the staff was really nice besides the girl and baldy who hung out in the tech area....she hated barrie and he was a cocky sob.
