Derek Johnson. There's a name I haven't heard in a long time. He was a really good driver. You can find some pictures and results on this site:
www.autocourse.ca. There's some Trans-Am stuff there but check under "Production" and "Touring car" racing too. Johnson raced a lot in Canadian production car and in the Quebec Molson series. He won a lot in 1969 and 1970. In 1971 he tried Formula Atlantic racing. Did well too, until he crashed in the rain at Trois Rivieres. Broke his back and shattered a leg. That was the end of his racing career. Too bad. He was really talented.
I think he's still in Montreal. I heard he owned the Winston Churchill pub for a while. I know he owned a pub called Cheers for a long time. It closed in 2007.
