there is a 5 race thunder car series being sponsored by Stefko racing engines. The 5 track involved I believe are Sunset Sable Barrie Kawartha and Peterborough

There is a Thunder car and Late Model Racing series running mostly on friday nights and one on a Sunday (peterborough chase for colours) Tracks involved are Sauble, Barrie, Kawartha, Sunset, Peterborough Dunno who thunder car sponsor is. I heard Mccoll is Late Model Sponsor. Sounds like the tracks are starting to work together again

yes i heard mccoll is the sponsor for the llm series. I also heard that its a 4 race series as llm do not run at kawartha. They do run in the late model class there and there is talk that they will still race there but have like a seperate points fund for the people who r in that part of the series.

Wonder who will run all the races in this series, Kawartha and Sunset are their own gear set, then you need a third gear set for Barrie, Sauble, and Peterborough.

It is likely that Sunset will be near the same gear as Peterborough, or within reason.

Either way, its alot of gear swaping between your home track on Saturday, and then racing the series on Sunday.  With the money situation the way it is for most of us, its hard to imagine running all the races, when most guys are having a hard time just getting on the track for opening night.

Most people have lots of different gear sets laying on there parts shelf. It doesnt take long to change a gear set. Under an hour. So i would see you will see alot of cars running the 5 race series its gonna be awesome.

Ya I realize how fast a gear change is for a 9 inch rear end, problem is most guys DONT run them, maybe 6-7 guys at Barrie thats about it, everyone else has a metric becouse thats what Sauble, Kawartha, and (Sunset last year only changed to 9 inch).

The other thing is I remember the SummerSizzler at KD was on Sunday, and Mark Dilly even put up 500 bucks if a Sunset car could win, but only Herb Walters showed up.

Dont get me wrong, I hope the series kicks ass, and if I can round up some cash and another rear end, id love to run it!  Hopefully the Stefko sponsor money will get people going, and all this hype.  I remember how big the Skoal, Shouldice Stone Late Model Super Series was, and always thought the thunders could to just as well in that type of format.
