Was I at that one? I went to that race a few times and it seemed like me, gary and jake shaw had a magnet attached to us. One year I parked beside urlin and his parents

Although it was nice to check off another track from the list, I gotta say, I must be spoiled being a Sunset guy from a car count perspective. For an event that I had thought was going to be one of the bigger single day events of the summer, I must say that I was slightly disappointed with the car counts. Low to mid teens for all support fields, and only 18 late models, and that number down to 13 by lap 16, and 10 by lap 30. It was nice to see a few of the guys that were out of it come back out for the second 75. Thanks to those for that. Good clean race, and a clinic put on by Gressell.
Overall, neat little track with some decent racing, but like I said, I am probably spoiled with the consistent 20+ car counts. I am not sure it was really worth the 2+ hour drive each way to watch 10 guys compete for the win, but as I said, another tick in the box for tracks attended in Ontario! And I cant forget to say thanks to Sauble Speedway for the cheap ticket prices, 15 bucks, WOW, was nice to see.

I was considering making the long drive as well (2 hrs or so) as i too was without my racing fix at Sunset but kinda glad i didn't. Car counts are always a concern and it seems as if we have hit the tipping point for invitationals maybe....if we added them up across the tracks in Ontario I think we might see why and it just costs too damn much for these guys for the most part to travel so much. I commented on another forum on prices for admission too; Sauble is great and Mosport mentioned I think is reasonable too but my home track Sunset needs to reconsider its pricing although if more cars come they can charge a little more. I'm hoping Fall Colours continues to be the place where car counts are never an issue as it hasnt disappointed in the years I have gone. Congrats to the drivers who made the trek to support Sauble in this event.

Unfortunatley Sauble track has been on a downward decline of car counts, some say the economy is that reason but I am thinking after attending this past Saturday night I am thinking more track management!!

I kind of agree with you on the number of invitationals, although as a die hard fan I'd love to see them every week :)  , I can only imagine the cost on the drivers to do it, and I can only imagine that 150 lapper last night, had you wanted to win, probably cost a few bucks! I had never been to Sauble, however I do follow Ontario short track racing intensely, and I do see that we are extremely spoiled at Sunset with our fields, perhaps why we pay more than other tracks lol!  I see tracks across the province with 7 and 8 car late model fields and wonder how exciting that can be, especially when we are used to 18-20!
Still, was a nice drive along the lake lol, and another track seen!  I guess I should give thanks that I have Sunset, however, being a military guy, I only get it for 1 year as I know I am posted next year. Maybe I shouldn't complain, there may not even be racing wherever I end up next year! :(   lol
I do appreciate greatly all the time and money all these drivers and crews put into putting on great shows across the province week in and week out!
Thanks much guys and gals, keep up the great work.

sauble had a very good crowd sat and full house sunday night.. very few cautions in all classes..the midget  class went green flag
and good show.. thanks for the delaware cars that came up.. they ran a very clean race.. the 1..3.. 8..10..21..22..81 car plus the sunset cars and varney cars.. i will say kent nuhn had a good run
and had a good battle with the 22 car.. nuhn got by him with 10 to go.. at the end  the 81 car was hammer down and the other cars where getting loose getting off corner 4..
as far as tech goes they where pulling carbs off.. they can do the
serious teching at delaware..lol

Well I have to say the show was pretty SAD!!!... If not for the Sauble Limited Late Models showing up there would have been no cars at all. But thumbs up to Saubles Tech for catching these guys!

Is there any truth to the rumour that Gresl is getting the win back? Supposedly the tech guy didn't know you could run a 4 barrel with that crate.
