Â  Well, well, well. It seems there is finally some movement over at the web site for the Crown Jewel. We now have a definition of SOON according to Cayuga. 6 Months!!!! LOL. I think someone has been working overtime in the PR department also. New slogan "The Sleeping Giant Awakens!" Hope they didn't pay anything for that one :P They say two weekends are confirmed. July 10, 11, 12 is open wheel including ISMA. With less than a month to go I don't think many race fans left that weekend open on their calendar so I hope it is not a flop for them. Also August Nascar Race of Champions but no details. It also seems that they are going to honour 2007 season tickets this year. WUWT?

Â  I know in my case with all the stuff that has gone on there that I can't make either of those dates unless something happens and I was planning on hitting at least three events this year at Cayuga when the hype first started as I was excited at what they SAID they had planned >:( I do sincerly hope they can salvage something there this year but sadly I probably can't be part of it. If they are around next year I'll give them a look again.

Signed: Ever trusting and gullable race fan  :-\

If ISMA is still planning on running at Cayuga I hope the teams get their passports in advance.
Hoping to have big car count for Delaware Aug 7/8.

If ISMA is still going to show they need to tell all of their racers because they all think the deal is dead.  If the Track is under new Managers/Ownership they need to get it out and in the news local, TV, and Inside Track for sure.

Is this deal for real or just more Cayuga rumors ???

"dee" is ISMA treasurer Delores Murphy.

you know BAR, this is a little unrelated, but the only recent publicity I can remember here in Burlington for the Santucci era at Cayuga is somehow they wangled it, so the Cayuga pace car was the first vehicle to travel the Red Hill Valley Parkway as soon as it opened to the public. It got on camera on CH news!!!

at first when I saw "amusement park rides" on a previous post, I sort of thought, what kind of place are they trying to run, but the rides worked well in Holland Speedway's heyday, especially to entertain kids who could be getting antsy while their parents wanted to watch the races. It just too bad that the first big show ISMA will be going up against Kawartha's ACT show if the new owner doesn't modify the schedule in any way.

Tonight at Delaware the AVSS announcer said that they were still talking to Cayuga and that the date he said was July 11th.Hope this border issue gets solved (re passports) so AVSS can bring a bigger field of cars because tonight only 11 cars showed up and out of the 11 two were Canadian (Ryan Litt,Mike Ling). As for the race the 30 lap feature went caution free with Mike Ling winning it & Ryan Litt finishing 3rd had a watch on the race and they ran 30 laps in under 10 minutes. In time trials Ryan Litt was fastest as he circled the Delaware oval in 15.682 (114.00 MPH).Pretty quick over the 1/2 oval.

Despite the rumors that have been circulating the race at Cayuga Speedway on July 12,2009 IS STILL ON SCHEDULE AS PLANNED. I recently spoke with the new owner and he is very excited about having the ISMA supermodifieds return to Cayuga Speedway. ISMA will be part of an event filled weekend including amusement rides and live musical entertainment. Hope to see many of you there.

Well Derek Lynch said in our drivers meeting last weekend that Cayuga is closed...so I would approach it as such.

SO; WAS I THE ONLY ONE WHO DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING GOOD WOULD COME OUT OF THE NEW OWNERSHIP OF THE SPEEDWAY. WHEN THE SALE WAS ANNOUNCED, WITH ALL THOSE WONDERFUL PICTURES OF THE PLACE, I SAID HERE WE GO AGAIN MORE PROMISES FROM AN OWNER/PROMOTER BUT MOST LIKELY JUST SMOKE AND MIRRORS. I IT IS SO WRONG THAT THE COULDN'T,CAN'T GET THEIR S..T TOGETHER AND GIVE US A HONEST RACE SCHEDULE. RIGHT NOW, JUNE 5tH YOU CAN E-MAIL THE TRACK AND GET NO RESPONSE. AS FAR AS I KNOW NOW, THE SUPER SPRINTS ARE STILL COMING, THE SUPERS AND THE VINTAGE MODIFIEDS. BUT GIVE IT AN HOUR AND THAT COULD ALL CHANGE. IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY MORE PLEASE  REPLY.

It is a same if this happens. I hear they are having a public open house in fort erie about the Super Speedway they want to build there. It is June 4th I think.

This is the one Gordon has some involvement. Nascar already says they have no plans to race there. Only time will tell.

There seems to be a lack of Management for the Speedway, both in Operations and Staffing, and although huge plans were talked about, nothing has happened.
I would be totally surprised to see this track open it's doors in 2009, and the future behond that at this point doesnt look much better.

ARCA says they have a date, as well ISMA says the same thing, but dates are dates and gates are gates, and neither one of them make any sence at this time.

I have always supported Cayuga Speedway in the past, but their lack of concern for different racing series, and the misconcern for the fans has me changing my whole outlook on this race track.

Lets change the heading on this to read.. Cayuga Motorless Speedway 2010 Schedule-
Coming Soon ???
