I hope that's a bad practical joke on Greg's part on the car count.....lol...What a way to bring in a new era with
a) Over 40% of the race ran under yellow;
b) Tickets which were more expensive than the race last year, and more expensive than comparable ARCA/Pro Cup/Grand National events; and
c) 4 cars less than last year.
And they called it "progress"....

How was the attendance?  I hope there will be more than 23 cars for the rest of the events.

My 2007 Track Count: 7 -  New Smyrna(FL), Volusia(FL), Bristol(TN), Toledo(OH), Delaware(ON), Flamboro(ON), Merrittville(ON)

I guess I won't be emailing Scott anytime soon... I'll let him cool off.

p.s. Was it Ron's fault?

Attendance was poor and someone was selling tickets in the parking lot for $10.00 each. Autograph session was cut short also.

As for it being Ron's fault that I don't know. I wasn't there! I was NOT going to pay $45.00 to go and watch.

I do not agree with having to buy tickets for a race through Ticket Master or paying $10.00 more at the gate. I had no clue even if I was going to be able to make the race until race date.

It was a good race but way too many cautions reminds me of the CASCAR races I went to see a while back no give and take tonight just a lot of torn up race cars but I guess it is ok as they all seemed to be sponsored cars. Did they tell drivers without sponsors not to show as I bet they could have had more cars on the track.

I thought I was at the wrong track as I remember the Press Conference at Vaughn mall and I thought it would be paved and everything would be done for this race. I heard it was 2 mill for the septic to be done and now it is a 10 year plan to get the track all done like the pictures they showed.

I thought the ticket prices were refelecting changes and improvements to Cayuga but I didn't see anything different since the last time I was there for the Nascar Alstar Race.

I must say I was treated better this time and wasn't kicked out of the VIP like last time I was there. Only thing I would say was bad I couldn't get the internet to work at the track and I thought it might be my cables but I just connect to  my network at home with the same cables  and it worked right away both wireless and cabled and another member of the press said he couldn't connect to the the net with their service.

I was told attendance was poor and also by looking at the pictures that Evan took there are not many people in the stands.  ???

I would say the attendance improved greatly just before feature time when you compare the amount of people that were there during qualifying.  All in all a good race I thought compared to previous events, still wasn't worth the ticket price but can't complain about that now since I paid the fee.LOL

Yes, the tickets were expensive. Yes, the car count was a little disappointing (although more cars does not necessarily mean better racing). Yes, there were too many caution laps.

But...

It was by far the largest crowd I have seen at Cayuga in years, and there was some great racing.

I like the 'lucky dog' rule (and just ask the 09 how they like it), and I like the the side-by-side restarts.

Also thought Andrew Ranger had a very impressive debut...
