Heh...yeah, but the only people that ever referred to it as that were the announcers. (And we know they're a strange lot.)

For everyone else, it is and always has been just Delaware Speedway. Well, except for the beginning when it was Brodie's. I don't know what they called it then.

I suggest it will be the same at Barrie.

My research with the ongoing Delaware Speedway History Project indicated that the original name was:
"Brodie's Delaware Speedway: The Action Packed Clear View Track".

Not really. The point is, no matter what they called our track over the years, everyone just called it "Delaware" The same will happen with Barrie. The naming organization will get their little writeoff and people will go on calling it Barrie.

I'm pretty sure I never heard anyone refer to Flamboro as Lucas Oil Flamboro Speedway either...except in ad copy.

As far as Brodie's goes, youre right about the title. You can find that in an old newspaper. (IIRC, the logo had a track around it with a little car powering around) What I want to know is not so much what was written on the sign...I'm wondering what the people called it back in the 50s.

I talked to Brad Moran in person last week and he said the name change was BS. There was no press conference, NASCAR driver, announcement etc. Just a routine pre-season practice.

Too bad the best division at Barrie lost two of its top drivers. Walters SHOULD walk away with it this season. Baker may keep things close. Time will tell.

Also, the Walters/NASCAR rumor was also BS. He "may" have a ride set up for a few local races. Other than that, he'll be running full time at Barrie.

This is news to me. I was told he was at Barrie's practice this weekend with his new Pepsi car and that he was running fast. I assumed he'd be running regularly at Barrie.

Stompin' Tom was at Barrie last Sunday afternoon. He said they hadn't even taken the car out of the trailer from Peterborough until then. No idea what kind of times he was getting, but he's ready to go. Yes, Pepsi is the the rear fenders with Blue Jay Catering on the hood and, maybe best of all...or not

, NASCAR is on the doors!! (but then it's on everybody else's doors too since they are the sanctioning body). I'd say that means he's running Barrie.
