Ok, I am not sure if i am "getting" this whole thread......But i will say this! We (the 66 super stock) went to the ALL MIGHTY NON POINTS night thinking this is the very first time our car got to turn a lap. Thats right! I didnt test prior to this!!!! Do you know what that means???? That means i saved myself $120 buck on a wednesday or a practice weekend....how do you ask? well i DIDNT use $1OO bucsk to haul up there, i didnt pay to get in, i didnt run by my self....what i did do was spend $1oo bucks to get to the track, bought $30 worth the food and paid $22 for my crew to get in.... Treated the night as a test, ran against other Great cars...brought it home in one piece and won!!! so i actually made money!!! the tires i ran are 3 yes i said 3 years old! Learned a ton of stuff had a blast!!! and oh, i made money!!!! I have raced at Barrie, and now sunset.... two Great tracks so very close to one another....there SHOULDNT be any bashing....I haul 2hrs to sunset ( use to be to barrie) so i dont have to run Flamboro.....I dont know of any other place where the competion is closer and the the people are better. Both Tracks NEED to work together and GET OVER this petty BS.... it WAS a true joy running Barrie, and now its a Joy running Sunset! DONT lower yourself By shooting one or the other down, Invest that into making both the best they can be! Grow up people this is a hobby!!!! work together for the good of the sport, Quit acting like spoiled brats!!! This Sport is very fargile, we need tracks, cars, and fans.   Drawing a line between 2 great tracks is only going to hurt things not help! Bashing one another on here is for KIDS! Get over it, and help our sport! Dont waste your breath  being a fool!

Just My 2 cents...hell what do I know!?
well said!!

Did I just hear Marty as the voice of reason, WOW,
just kidding my friend.
Some great points were made, both tracks now have strong and interested ownership, both tracks have some great racers that are very dedicated to the sport. Personally I will be going to both tracks as a spectator this year and wish all the drivers and crew members that I consider friends the best of luck and I look forward to watching some great racing.
Congrats on your win last week Marty, I didn't see it I was watching Walt and Belesky in another great battle.

AHHHHH my good buddy TOWER!!!! Something just told me you'd be chiming in on this one... What are you essentially saying bud... That I should add a trailer... ???

** The opinions expressed are exclusively those of me BLKFLAGAIN and in no way reflect the opinions or views of BSW ownership, other staff, drivers, crew or patrons...... There are ya satisfied??? ;D

As for the farse I guess I should specify a bit... I was more so referring to the Stefco portion of the McColl/Stefco tours that developed last year... I guess you didnt hear about the way the Sunset folks presented themselves during the events of Donaldson-Gate last season when both tours hit Barrie...Pretty convienient how some folks only see what they want to see.. ;D

Ya regardless if Barrie/Sunset ever emalgamated or worked together at this point??? Would be enough incentive to send me( and likely a few others, with gentle persuasion) careening to the dirt tracks faster than you can say sassifras!!!LOL ;) ;) In laymen's terms ( Not gonna happen while I am a follower of Barrie).. Was hopeful of heading down to Sunset for the OSCAAR, CVM, and Mini Stock show next weekend... But alas under Dilley's watch I'd rather choke on my own vomit than than give my friends at "The Dump on the Hump" a cent!!! ;D ;D That goes for the MRE series too.... Year 2 of the farse??LOL

I sincerely hope that the new owners of Barrie Speedway dont agree with the way one of their employees presents himself on a major message forum. I sure would hope that they would have a lot more class.I also have to disagree with you when it comes to what MRE and Stefco did for the racers in the province trying to promote two great race series. The effort put in by not only mike from MRE but the people from Stefco should be applauded. MRE not only sponsors a lot of race series but an awful lot of racers also. Definately no farse here from what ive seen ,just true love of the sport.

I thought the non points night for the first night of racing was a great idea. Anybody that wanted to get a good feel of what their race car could do or what it was capable of doing or how was it going to perform under actual race conditions could go out and race with no worries about making those adjustments that just didnt work out.Great way to get the bugs worked out before getting on the track racing for points, also a great way to get a feel for the track for all the new drivers in all the classes.

Drugged up??? Fall down and come up with amnesia and forget who you are?? Rest assured someplace, somewhere pigs are flying and there makin ice cubes in hell!!! ;D

The problem with a non points night is best illustrated by what it does to the tire bill, the track doesn't care what it does and I'll share my thoughts. It's the first race of the year, nobody has any tires yet, so, you have to buy 4. To start the year, the points year I'm talking about, you are allowed to buy so many tires, I'm not sure of the rule at SS but say it's 8 to start the year off. What are ya gonna do? Use 4 of your 8? Now your tires to start the year off have a night on them, and you haven't raced for points yet. The well funded teams, and buy the way that mean guys and gals with cash  :D, will buy 4 and use them for heat races at an invitational somewhere down the line. In order to do this, you need tons of rims, or access or own a tire machine. Bottom line is, some guys just elect not to run at all and save the cash and tires. The teams that run get one night extra of what is essentially practice, and get an edge that way. The track could care less if teams take the night off cause they know they'll get a healthy gate on opening night, points or not, cause people are starved for some on track action. Plus they'll make a few extra bucks on the tires, and they know it. It's not exclusive to Sunset. If I was running a business, I would recognize that it's an easy way to grab a few extra greenbacks.
Ok Thanks Crowdpleaser,,Gotch ya Its nothing personal Just Bussiness,,Starved Drivers'' LOL Track time''=  Money ....

I dunno about you scooter but maybe the people who came out dont race for points. They race because they love racing. If you are that strapped for cash dont come out to the first night if you are points racing its just that simple. Nothing wrong with the first night being a non points night. And for those who dont come. There is plenty of chances to come practice on wednesday nights to dial your car in if your affaird of missing the first night and being behind the 8 ball.  I wish the new owners at barrie a great first year

you've pretty much just said what I did..........I guess we're in agreement
Thanks guys'a little understanding is good  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
