BUTCHER RETURNS TO VICTORY LANE AT IRVING OIL BLENDING & PACKAGING 150

(Moncton, NB, July 24, 2016) – A day later than scheduled due to rain, Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake, NS led 129 laps en route to his first win of the season at the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 150 at Petty International Raceway Sunday afternoon. In the final few laps, working through lapped traffic, the Linde Most Laps Led winner had to hold off a hard charging Cassius Clark (Farmington, ME) who settled for 2nd position.  With 20 laps to go Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) blasted to third position from sixth to complete the podium. Islanders Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) and Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) completed the top five.

Three Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races determined the starting order for the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 150. Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS), Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS), and Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) secured the top spot in their respective qualifiers. With his first Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour top ten finish, Matt Rodgers (Smithtown, NB) earned the King Freight Lines Future Winner Award after finishing tenth in the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 150. The Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year Award went to Harry Ross White (Kennetcook, NS) after finishing 17th on the afternoon.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will make its one and only stop to picturesque Prince Edward Island next Saturday for the Lucas Oil 100 at Oyster Bed Bridge Speedway. Tickets will be available to purchase at the gate on race day. Visit www.maritimeprostocktour.com for all event information.
