Brighton Speedway Forced to Postpone Great Crate Race Until September 28th Due to Inclement Weather
Craig Revelle, Finish Line Web Design & Angela Rinaldi – September 9th, 2013

The highly anticipated 3rd Annual Great Crate Race that was scheduled for Saturday, September 7th was postponed due to rain.  With many race teams traveling a great distance, track officials made the decision to reschedule the event until Saturday, September 28th at 6:00pm.

McDougall's Insurance & Financial returns as the title sponsor of this 65 lap event, with additional backing from Excel Tower Service, Brighton Speedway, Hotch's Auto Parts, Dibbits Excavating Ltd., King Landscaping, John's Equipment, Tenacious Racing, and Finish Line Web Design.  The total purse with awards and contingencies will be in excess of $20,000, with more than $5000 going to the race winner.

In addition to the Great Crate Race on September 28th, Brighton Speedway will also have the Canadian Modifieds on hand with big money for them as well with the $2000 to win Danny Reid Memorial event on the same night. The entire program for today will move to the September 28th date, with the addition of the Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks.

Fans of Weese Racing and Caley’s Anti Bullying campaign are invited to wear their shirts on the 28th for a group photo before the start of the show.  The Anti Bullying Photo will take place on the front straight at 5:50pm and all fans and drivers decked out in their Anti Bullying T Shirt are welcome to join in.

General Admission for this event is only $15 for adults, $10 for Youths and Seniors and only $4 for children ages 7 to 12.  Children six years of age and under are admitted FREE to the main grandstand area.  Gates will open at 4:30pm with racing action getting underway at 6pm.

For more information on this second annual event, please visit us online at www.finishlinewebdesign.ca/greatcraterace or www.brightonspeedway.com.  You can also contact Angela Rinaldi at the Speedway office toll free at 1-866-681-1102, locally at 613-475-1102, or by email at info@brightonspeedway.com.

But there is still more to come at Brighton Speedway this September.  Saturday the 14th Ultramar presents a complete race program including the OILgard Anti Rust Canadian Modifieds, Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks, Bill’s Johns Comp 4’s, the Quinte Septic 6 Cylinder Stingers as well the Larry’s Towing Spectator One On One and a demonstration from the BSP Kart Klub.  With three weekends left and five events to go, action on the oval is going to be spectacular.  Don’t miss any of it!
