WOW Enduro
« on: September 19, 2010, 01:45:40 PM »
So I would like to put a special thanks to the #28 team for having me aboard to help out with the car the last to races this year.   I would also like to say WOW.  We were pitting just down from the  McCullough race teams and watched what we though was a race car pull in the pits with a blown head, Until the engine puller came out and they changed the engine right there in front of us.  WOW congrats to that team for pulling that off and still making it out there to finish the last 10 laps.  See ya all next year if not with the 28 then maybe my own car.

Reminds me of the glory days, Junior Johnson / Jeff Hammond were responsible for the rule not allowing engines changes during a Winston Cup race. Jeff Hammond's crew was capable of swapping out a motor in less than 18 minutes which was achieved by actually practicing it on a regular basis.

Some of you might remember Robblee's crew doing that in '93 during a Cascar Super Series event at Delaware.  Early on in the race the engine let go and they were in a battle with Kerry Micks for a new dually hauler.  Ron Sinclair put the watch on them and they changed the engine in 46 minutes. That included changing over the flywheel, clutch, bellhousing and starter as the spare wasn't complete.  If you noticed later any spare engines in their trailer were always drop in ready to run after that.

They still  lost the truck by 4 points,,,2 positions.

We would have been back out before lap 200 with #38 Derek McCulloughs car but after putting in the spare engine the water pump gasket was leaking.  I cannot believe Davids engine lasted after sounding like  a knocking steam engine with 60 to go

I agree, that was a crazy race, as all Demar Enduro Nationals should be! I had at least 4 or 5 moments that puckered my butthole.

I had a blast and I'd like to thank all my fellow drivers for racing me clean, as I tried to do the same to you. Everyone except that McCaw fellow, what an ass he is!  ;) Thanks for the dent in my door and that bumper love out of turn 2.

Thanks to everyone who supported us this year. It was a great end to our 2010 season, and I can already feel that its going to be a long off-season!

Just commenting on sat 18/2010 enduro race. I agree, what a great race, the way it should be, not to many red or black flags, and everyone out there racing did a great job.  The fans really enjoyed it from what i could tell, every driver was very clean racing, even though this is an enduro.
CONGRATULATIONS to the winner  Jacob Orr, what a great race and show he put on. He never gave up even when the rain came, he just kept on going, and did it very clean. It certainly put a lot of excitment into the final end of the race.
These enduro cars actually raced cleaner then the other classes.
It was really sad though on friday night to see how many cars showed up to the track. I guess these drivers mean what they say, when they have had enough of the unfair judgement calls to some of the guys/girls, and others just let go.
Without a lot of these cars/trucks, the crowd might go way down, as this is what we come to see.
Maybe delaware could get a instant replay screen, and view it before they just  make some of their calls, on someone's hear say. It really does not take all that long, as the caution flag is out, there is lots of time to do this and then make a fair call, so all the drivers are treated equally.
I am sure everyone heard michells speach after the truck race on Friday night, and most of us in the stands didn't blame her, but if she does not come back, she will be truly missed.

i did not hear her speech but all i know is bout 80% of the drivers pointed the finger at her when they parked the trucks at the drivers meeting i cant say she is the #1 blame thats forsure but throwing a truck into a corner while 2 other trucks battle and take them out and no black flag to her for doing so is wrong only my thoughts and what i had heard from other drivers .

If you don't know the facts, don't come on here posting whats right and whats wrong. Be the Bigman and don't go pointing fingers like the rest.
Besides, this is about the enduro - We already have a Friday night Gong show thread.
