Nice to hear that your track owner has an open mind and will actually listen to the drivers ideas.
I have been only to Sauble Speedway a couple of times but always seen a good show but as times have changed and economy has slipped most tracks have seen a decline in fan base and car counts.
Hope all this hard work pays off all the way around!

Back in the eighties, the promoter at the time Bruce Bennett on race nights had a megaphone on the Pace car with a recording advertising the nights action down at the beach. Awesome way to promote to vacationers who are looking for things to do with the kids at night. The few times I brought the car to the Tuesday night show and shines in Sauble, I was surprised how many tourists didn't even know there was a track 5 minutes away. Good way to get people who aren't avid race fans, just looking for something to do with the family on a Saturday night. Good job for Squid  ;)just my 2 cents.

when I heard the word spotters, I started wondering if equipping teams with two way radios has driven the cost up in the top classes? I can see using a one way racesaver with instructions from the tower re positions,on- track infractions, accidents, etc. but have Nascar wanabees driven the costs beyond what is necessary. Successfull dirt tracks like Ransomville and Merrittville only use one ways in their top divisons. In fact, Dirtcar banned two way radios in races less than 200 laps because of too much radio control driving. Asphalt racing locally seems to have gone completely the other way allowing radios in 30 lap features

Other good idea would be get the cars ready for the show in the mall in the spring,
Get a bunch of hats,t shirts, foot balls, frisbees, etc. With Your car number and or logo on them and sell them there . Any thing we can do will help support our bad race habit.
Let's get r done

;D Good news for Sauble Speedway. Any time a track owner or promoter can work with the competitors is a good day. Good for Jason and thanks.
My take on Sauble Speedway in 2012 is that you put on some of the best racing I have seen, maybe because of the condition of the track surface or just the competitors racing abilities. All I can criticize would be the length of time torestart the races after a caution. As drivers we should be able to place ourselves back behind the car we were trying to pass without having the whole show stopped to re align the field. If the drivers cant get back in line in one caution lap then dock him or her one spot at the race conclusion for every spot he took. Maybe the track will be wrong on occasion but that is not the end of the world. Just get the show over by 1030pm so our fans want to come back.
Thats my 10 cents

Good point, other then Late Model the other 3 classes are averaging 10-12 cars, top five are on the scoreboard so you are only realigning 5-7 cars.

rio27 has the right idea & one step further would be to drive through the local camp grounds advertising the nights events at the track. Those people will be staying over night & just might be looking for some action, if they just new about it. Just another thought. Shaping up for a good year. :)

There are a lot of great ideas from drivers and fans, but the last one got me to thinking, where is track promoters ideas how to make things better.
Going into a campground and announcing what is happening at the track is a great idea.
Even better idea, promoter has a couple volunteers go to camp ground with a couple cars and drivers, set up a tv/vcr, show some track action and give out some freebies.
Same as fan appreciation night at track, drivers who spend their hard earned money to supply a race car, get car to the track, pay to get into track are expected to pony up more money for hand outs, which is fine, not many drivers that do not mind doing that for the fans, but i have never seen a track promoter give anything out to the fans on those nights.
Kind of funny, if as drivers we say pay outs are not enough, promoters say times are tough, i can not do anything about it, but car counts and fan base is down they sure welcome our ideas and time to make things better for them.
It is a two way street or rather it should be!

I know at least 3 Sauble campgrounds are being well represented at the speedway. Gresel's own Sauble Fall's Campground, Have multiple sponsored car's at the track. Casemore's own North Sauble Sand's and the 16 street stock, and Sauble Beach Resort Camp sponsor's Dan Wright in Late Model and myself in Street Stock. My car is promoted throughout the campground always available to answer questions and let the kids sit in it for a pic. Usually have 20 seasonal campers that are avid fan's weekly out to the speedway.
